I've been trawling for international competitions and for items I might like. That's how I came across the MS Surface Book competition which is now expired. I was a little disappointed in a lot of the competitions are for makeup products, books or DVD's. lol

I've only noticed Mammapigga missed a couple of days for the guessing game early in the month. Thou only they could confirm if they either forgot to register a guess.

You should be able to see how many registered guesses you've had for the month, and count them and compare to your score.

Hmm if you're having problems any hints what might be causing it? Like internet connection dropped out? Browser issues with security etc. What browser are you using? Any add blocking or other browser extensions that might cause problems?

My suggestions try a different browser, maybe clear browser cache. Or check security settings. I suspect there might be a few people who might be in the same boat with daily guesses not registering.

Occasionally I have problems if I've loaded up too many competitions at once and competitions sometimes don't show as viewed or points added. I've got a old pc which needs more ram.

I'm fairly certain I lost a few points through clicking on expired competitions in the early morning. I saw my score drop after I logged in. Grrr

Overall it seems to be working fine for me except for crummy daily points for the first half of the month.

Overall your points for competitions viewed looks right. I.e 5 more than mine so probably the maximum. I.e 5 the points I think I lost viewing expired competitions. Your daily score looks like you've logged in every day to be that high. Your guessing game points look 2 or 3 days missing :(

If indeed a problem it would be nice if someone could troubleshoot it with some hints what could be causing it for some people and not others. If any hints of anything you've done differently than usual from time of day you registered your guess, browser used, pc/windows update etc.

Only other ideas. Do you know when it occurred? Was it around when daylight savings kicked in? What state are you in? Long shot maybe your pc clock was wrong or closing time is based on EST.

Hey thanks for the reply. I've been on everyday. The times are staggered depending on what I'm doing on the day ie. travelling for work but its always during the day the odd night etc. I know that I've always completed my guessing game yet it doesn't appear to have registered. Located in NSW.

@jessiebutcher Not much information to go on. Have you tried posting to the admins? I didn't get a response back to my query regarding points lost.

Maybe the admins can look into it and fix your score. It would be nice to know what the possible cause was. As it seems an intermittent issue, I was suspecting maybe the switch to daylight savings might of caused some issues, or possible a browser/pc issue.

Did you check/notice your overall score at the time of entry for the guessing game didn't increase? Or was it the following day? Is the guess entered showing up in the list of guesses?

Hmm if you notice it happening again try switching browsers and see if you can reenter your guess. It could be something to do with cookies. I.e. maybe your browser has saved settings you entered but failed to send the entry. Maybe they could add a response back for the guessing game to confirm entry.

Its not the first time its happened and I did forward a message to admin but never got a reply, guessing they never got it.

Thanks for your help, I know its not much to go on but perhaps its a glitch who knows. I'll just keep happily entering competitions and not worry about guessing game/leaderboard.

@jessiebutcher I put a few competitions if that helps :). Not a good pattern for the admin not replying. Guess we both forgot to attach the cheque.

Which competitions in particular? I've come across competitions where it was almost impossible to work out how to submit. It could be a browser issue. Try a different browser and/or change security settings if you're expecting a submit button.

Hi, Lemond. I do find at times 'Viewed' competitions do sometimes disappear from the comp listing though the count does not decrease. A glitch I suspect.

My count DID decrease. I noticed my competitions viewed and total points amount when I logged in. A few minutes later both decreased by 4 points. They were valid competitions viewed for the month points that were removed. I know what actions I did and I'm 99.99% certain, I've found an exception to the rule. Too much of a coincidence.

After that I've noticed I'm always 5 points below the maximum possible competitions, that can be viewed for the month. I think I might of done the same action once, a day or two beforehand. The first time I was a bit puzzled, but assumed a slight chance I missed one.

I didn't want to publish the probable cause as it might cause headaches for the admins if others tested it. I sent a message about 48 hours back from the contact post.

Aghh still hanging out for the slim possibility of making the top 20 by the end of the month. lol

I know that viewing expired competitions used to decrease your count but that was rectified several months ago. Hopefully @admin and @Zedmin can troubleshoot your (particular) issue, and correct for your monthly count. Fingers crossed. Reminds me to check my scoring....hmmm.

@toxicgherkin I have posted thou no response so far. Was that issue from checking the expired competitions from the link at the bottom right of the screen or another way? Yeh was from viewing just expired competition which was posted this month. I.e. valid competition viewed. The just expired competitons are displayed for a few hours till the morning competition shift kicks in. It's the "early birds" that would be in with a chance for coming across this anonymity.

@toxicgherkin I would retest it, however I need ever point I've been generously given. I would also need to find a competition posted this month, that has just expired.

Yes, Lemond. Compers used to lose a point for viewing PREVIOUSLY VIEWED/CLICKED-ON competitions. I did find that frustrating as I could never recall if I had clicked on a particular competition or not, as weeks went by. It's an age thing. Lol. I was very happy to find that admin had amended the scoring algorithm. That said, I don't know why you would be losing points for viewing expired comps. Oh, and yes, it was the bottom right of screen click to access Expired Competitions where I used to lose points...Happily that is not longer the case...though now I need to recheck..Damn OCD...Lol

It seems there is still a way to lose points for competitions viewed. The way it happened for me was by viewing competitions which were posted for the current month after midnight. These competitions I had previously viewed/entered. Competitions just expired are displayed for a few hours until the new daily competitions are posted. Verses going to the link at the bottom of the page.

So my guess they only fixed 1/2 of the problem.

I don't think I want to dive into the front end to see what might be causing it. I'm a bit rusty. Don't tempt me. I've decompiled and laboriously, reconstructed client and server side java applets just to see how they work.

Ok too late had a sneak peak. Now got a headache. lol.

lol I had the problem last month as competitions viewed weren't displaying as viewed. It seemed to update if I clicked on the "save for later" and "not interested" options, to save me loading up the page again. Might of been my browser issue. It seems fine this month so far.

I usually click on all the new competitions and load them up all at once when I log in the morning. Also late night. Checking the 2nd page and feature competitions which can sneak up on you.

The issue will only affects the "early birds" turning over those random rocks looking for the worm before it gets snapped up. I've noticed a few regulars. :)

That's a good point but I"m thinking it's no different to black out dates being over Christmas etc, People could state that they get time off work at those times. I don't think the company would care, and if I won an overseas trip and had to take my kids out of school for it, I'd do it lol.

I have noticed that too Jrob71. I would love to win a holiday but often the date restrictions rule me out between work and kids. Some only give you a few weeks notice and my lifestyle at the moment is not that flexible.

I wouldn't mind if some of the holidays were blacked-out like Christmas and Easter but one I saw recently was for a seven day local (within Australia) holiday for 2 adults and 2 kids but Christmas, Easter, all school holidays and October long weekend were blocked out leaving no possible travel times when the kids weren't supposed to be in school.

Haha, you're gonna get me on my soap box now! Yes, that site 'that shall remain nameless' is all over the place. I use to be a member, and I use to use it every day, but as soon as they forced me to use my real name, rather than my 'social' name, I told them where to go! I can't even comment on one of my favourite movie sites, one that I'm a member of, simply because they also (for no reason at all) require me to be logged into this stupid social media site in order to post. There are so many competitions listed, especially on competitions.com.au, that I have to ignore because this social media site is used solely for entries, including competitions.com.au's own competitions. It's a pain! But, I have to say, as much as I love competitions (and I do, I really do), my hatred for this particular social media site is greater, so I will never rejoin just to enter comps. Rant over.

lol. There's a cure for frustration. I just use mine only as a bookmark and entry for competitions. Another social media site requited, I can't seem to register it keeps saying the email is in use. I'm sure I haven't registered an account previously. If I try resetting the password, just in case already exists it says it can't find it.

Did you notice that with the BeQuick Mazda Competition it states that any response to the questions (Yes or No or otherwise) will get your details sent to the company for marketing purposes. I wouldn't mind if an affirmative response was forwarded, but not the negative ones, otherwise they'll just be spamming me. Grrr.

@divergent Yeh grr it might explain why I keep getting Dodo calling me, despite that they don't supply a VDSL plan i.e. fibre to the basement. No way would I consider ADSL and risk the slow speeds for the same price.

I didn't notice that bit in the T&C's must be hidden somewhere with all those y/n questions.

I avoid Cohort like the plague. As soon as I see it's one of theirs, I get the hell away from there as fast as I can! I know telemarketers are only trying to make a living, but seriously, no means no! Ringing 8 million times, isn't going to change my answer. And why is it ok for them to ring me at meal times, but when I ask for their home number so I can call back when it suits ME, they won't give it to me

Lol, I get requests from friends and family for specific prizes, and then I have to hunt down competitions that have those prizes. They don't enter them themselves because they say they're not as lucky as me, but I think they're just lazy. I much prefer just entering the comps I'm interested in. I don't like entering girlie comps as it looks funny when a man's name appears as the winner, hehe.

@divergent lol. Know what you mean. Hmm I entered a "mums" prize thought it would be great for keeping my bits and pieces in for cricket. I think you'll find a good majority of winners overall are women. Go guys. :)
