Wow nice prize congrats :)

Giving me hints to get back into comping mode. As soon as I get around to finishing off setting up my database to damn manage the comping. It's slowly getting there :)

@Smalot11 Argh had me worried for a while. I seemed to have "slight" delay before could register today's guessing game. Thought might of been caused by refreshing the browser around right on midnight to do the guessing game.

I have noticed one issue in previous months when doing the guessing game on the first of the month and missing the double guess. I seemed to get caught just after they cleared the previous month scores before working out if I had double guesses or not. Then was fine for the rest of the month.

Lesson is not don't try doing the guessing game on the first of the month for least a few minutes after midnight AEDT. If showing incorrect number of guesses come back a few minutes later and refresh. i.e. assuming you know if ended up 4-50th previous month and got double guesses.

Probably what should be done is disable the guessing game while any maintenance is being conducted. Bonus if they added a message stating down for maintenance would also be nice. :)

I'm playing the guessing game mid morning now since day light saving is finished and I have to wait to midnight instead of 11pm in Qld. :)

Assuming not an exaggeration ie. 98 - 1*6 - 1*10 gives a min score of 82 from 12 days So, how many 10 and/or 9's did you get in the first 12 days?

Overall you're currently still better off then @toxicgherkin :)

If it's you're birthday month you might still have a chance. Would need roughly 170ish (+5 above the monthly average). Don't give up just yet @FARMERTYSON :)

@Winner1 A better question is what would be the odds for a similar scenario?
You can use combination probability have fun. I'm preoccupied :)

Eg Assuming 100 active members what be the odds within a year for a similar scenario occurring. i.e. For any given number occurring 6 times within 7 days. End up with 90 possible combinations out of a total (10^7).

For a year hmm 358 seven day periods and 100 members
35800*70= 2506000

2506000/10000000 = 0.25 i.e. 25% chance occurring in a year or on average once in approximately every 4 years

Be a rough starting point would need to check if used the correct methodology.

Taking one members run of numbers for a week may hint at an issue it's stretching it. You need to look a larger sample of random scores. I wouldn't expect your scenario to reoccur for a while. It's not impossible.

Eg
The odds of two consecutive days being the same number 10/100 , 3 days 10/1000 etc. So good chances at least one member out of 100 may get repeating numbers for the next 3 days.

It's not to say there may be an issue, by just using a sample of a couple of members scores over one week doesn't demonstrate much apart from that combination is a possibility. One out of a possible 10 million combinations for each member in a week.

I have a seperate email address for all my comps. Only use Instagram for comps so probably Yes to that question.

I use separate email acc. too, sound advice :)

I set up an email address, Twitter and Instagram mainly for competitions. A different email address allows the filtering of emails as a result of entering comps to remain separate from main emails. When a friend is starting to enter comps and they ask my advice, the first thing I tell them is, setup an email address and use that for comps.

I use 2nd Twitter and a 2nd FB account for my 'sharing' entries (so I dont annoy friends and family). And yes I have multiple email addresses but i still play by the rules and enter once per day.

separate. honestly I have only started back entering comps for about a month. and again only enter big prizes travel etc I don't enter anything I wouldn't really like to win anymore and my comp email is packed full of emails now. although I guess if you have a lot of free time it doesn't matter.

I entered one a few weeks back, no sales calls from that entry but I did receive a follow up call to do a survey of which if I did it I'd then go in another draw. From that survey I have now had quite a few sales calls.

Is there a competition submission feature now in action? What did they do regarding compbux for that etc?

I recall they mentioned something about competition submissions a couple of months ago thought nothing had come of it. Still the usually 10 competitions listed per day so assuming not much has changed.

Its only for people who run comps at the moment, so you have to register with your ABN etc.

They have not been listed before, one is a brand new giveaway started 2 days ago.

Just curious as to what the problem is with them. I've submitted a few in the past with no problem.

@shtooff sorry, should clarify. First card arrived - not VISA debit - but is a card you activate online, with funds available generally by noon the following day. You can track your balance online too, which is handy. As for numbers of receipts to enter per day - unlimited. No minimum spend. No upper limit on entries. I think more and more people are doing competitions. Desperate times call for desperate measures. With the media advertising and putting it out there and with Facebook the chances are becoming slimmer. Once upon a time a comp on F.B would only have say 200 entries compared to 2.6k now. I know you have to be in it to win it, but yes its becoming ridiculous.

@SunnyLife i avoid fb comps most of the time .. people copy each others comments, have had mine copied.

As well 2.5 weeks ago I found someone from overseas using my name.. she is not a relative, family or even name sake...

Different heritage, ancestry and all else that goes with it, she just adopted my name ... FB are telling me she is doing nothing wrong & not going against their regulations. Their regulations state that people must use their own names

Someone copied my answer last week and posted it on several pages. And I messaged them and commented under their post writing stop copying my answer and she blocked me and then I got a message from a friend of hers. It said, 'You $&#^*@*@* How dare you harass a 13 year old girl have reported you to the police'.

My answer had something about my two kids in it. So I don't know how a 13 year old girl has two kids. And also why would a 13 year have a facebook that's full of comps. It's hard to believe that there's a hardcore comper that's 13 years old.

@Comp_chick Oh crap, is this what it has come to? Having to compete with 13 year old's or younger? (they can say that they are 13 to be eligible to enter the F.B comps, but there isn't any proof to tell if they are the age that they say they are. No one asks) Silly Facebook, one rule for some and another rule for others. :(

I was just scared about the police.
Like what else am I suppose to do if someone copied and pasted something I wrote that sometimes takes half an hour to an hour or sometimes more to write.
Am I suppose to turn a blind eye next time.
All I did was message them and told them to stop and I got blocked and apparently I reported to the police for harassing a 13 year old.
If she went to the police and told them I was harassing her, and then if the police asked why. I wonder what she would have said. Surely she would have been telling lies.

This person is such a cheat.
She just changed her last name was Ella now its Dunston - In one post she wrote she had a son aged 4 and then on another post she wrote her son is 3.
She's lost her marbles.

@Comp_chick The police would only laugh at her. They have better things to do. So many crazy people out there, karma usually has its ways with them. They are their own worst enemy. Hopefully you'll win something way better than what was offered in that prize. Good Luck to you :)

I've never had a problem with this survey site before and have actually made quite a bit of money through them. This one was just very frustrating! And I know it's not the survey site's fault... it's the company who designed the survey...

HI, @ouzocoke. Can't say I've had that experience precisely though I suggest you brace yourself in readiness for low daily points, ostensibly randomly! ;) Seems to go with the territory. A gracious 1 point for me today! :(

You can add another point to yesterday's for me. A whopping 2 points this morning. Gaaah!

So does everyone get different amount of random points per day or same amount

@ouzocoke, it's a random allocation of between 1 and 10 points to each user that logs in/has activity that particular day. You might find you score a 10 one day and receive 1 point the next day. I received 1 point on Sunday, 2 points on Monday, and I see this from this morning, 7 points. It's different for everyone.

@toxicgherkin Please just keep those low random scores to yourself for this month. :)

@ouzocoke They should be randomly allocated (1-10) to each member, per day when they visit the home page. Note activation of the random daily points system first requires visiting a new competition posted in that month.

If random you should expect occasional runs of a given number. To have a realistic chance for then top 3 looking at around a monthly total of 190ish-210 daily random points. Adjust that rough requirement down 25 points if it's your birthday month.

I wouldn't worry too much regarding the random daily bonus unless it's your birthday month or only a few birthdays for a given month. Otherwise you need a fair dose of good luck.

You still got double guesses for the weekly guessing game to look forward to in the following month, If end up in the top 50 scores. That's basically guaranteed if you visit the home page (for daily random points), do the guessing game and tick off most of the competitions posted for that month.

For some reason there has been a recent change to the allocation of the birthday bonus to the end of the month. Maybe it's a "cunning plan" to keep members interested.

Thanks @Trevsta the worst is over thank goodness. Saftey always in mind. We got rained on with a cat 3/4 (three quaters) I think with wind gusts at over 80-90kms. Didn't loose any trees after loads of rain before this.
@Smalot11, we lost power for six hours during the height of it. It was a little scary hearing that wind in the dark with a candle so I can't imagine what it was like for those further up the track. Yes, the emergency crews, Red Cross, others and SES are doing a great job.
