Oooooh I hate when I have to chase things up. NO I wouldn't just keep waiting, I'd hound them, day in day out. I haven't heard of LIVETRIBE so really don't know who they are or how they operate, but if you have all the original emails etc saying what you're owed, I'd start maybe being 'not so polite' and mention that you want a definitive answer on when to expect them, or you'll be complaining to the gaming authorities. @Tiesha, I won in their Easter promotion. Like you, I converted this to a cash amount, to be deposited into my bank account via PayPal. Promo's T&C indicated up to 60 days lead time. I'm anxious even though I know my waiting period has not been fully served! I want it now! Lol.

I know your win's lead time is different. Keep checking status by all means. Over the years I have found Live Tribe to be open in their customer service approach. As you're doing, just keep records of the correspondence and dates. Fingers crossed your gift cards arrive soon.

I've not won anything from Livetribe but I've claimed several EFTPOS cards and they have always come very promptly.

If you see it and would like/use it, enter it! I'm fussy with what I enter now, but start off entering everything you see if you like, and you'll soon learn how it all works. Then you can start to pick and choose. Don't forget to go local as well. Free suburban newspapers and shops run comps and your odds of winning are quite good. I've won movie tickets, makeup Hamper and $500 holiday voucher. Earlier this year a local foodland store ran a win a $10,000 cruise (ran for four weeks) and it was confined to that store only which was a surprise. One entry for purchasing any product with a star and they were small things like water crackers. When I went to place my entries the shop assistant didn't even know about the comp because no-one had placed any entries and that was after a week. (Barrel was tiny) Needless to say I got very excited but alas didn't win this one.

Whenever this happens I get slightly down too. Then Bingo, a surprise arrives and it's just like Christmas. It will happen soon I'm sure.

I'm the most impatient person you could ever meet. MANY times I've said nope, that's it, this sucks, it's a waste of time ..... BUT THEN!!! ... a parcel or email arrives, and it kicks me off again. I go on a competition frenzy and then it all happens again in a month or so lol like a roundabout

Sometimes I find it helps to have a break from comping and have a life for awhile. Eventually I get the bug back. Good luck.

Yes I agree and ones that ask for too much personal information I tend to stay clear of. There are a lot of competitions that are just opportunities for telemarketers to contact you.

The Aussie Lifestyle Survey has been a bit like that. Each iteration of the survey submitted, and there's another phone call....you're in the running.....would you be interested in.....blah, blah, blah.... Sheez!!! Lol

Yes, this one was from phone number 0280264067, so beware. It's a finance company.
Really annoys the poop outta me! GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! mind you, these telemarketing ones have become a bit more obvious to me, so I just click out of them

Books, in their Mother's Day competition. They announced the promotion last Thursday on Facebook, for a 10 am start on the Friday. First 300 to choose a book and submit their details, secure a win. Six books up for grabs. No T&C visible but getting all six books was permitted it seems. Doubling up on the same book (as a test) was not. Residual stock, if any, can be secured by promo close (3rd May from memory).

I got one too. I didn't know we could get all 6. Oh, well, haven't got that much time for reading these days anyway...

I received a copy of Winning Way's by Jenny this week, and have powered through it. I recommend it to EVERYONE. It's filled with info, so easy to read AND entertaining. If you're looking for real tips on Winning, why go past Winning Ways? I've got my copy tucked neatly and safely away . . . do I need this Winning Edge? Let's just say, I've got my copy, & I'm keeping it! : )

That's great Jenny! SO many truths. I too always wonder why they need my birth date, and depending on the prize, I wonder if they do target a certain age bracket for these prizes. Ie: do they really want to send a couple in their mid 40's to a rock concert? Do they really want to send a couple of 18 year olds to a 5 star hotel with dinner and drinks?
I entered a Channel V comp for my daughter, which was tickets to a Triple J music festival in Melbourne, and included accommodation (flights forfeited because we are in Vic).
My daughter couldn't attend, so I asked promoter if I could take the prize, to which they agreed. I still wonder if it was targeted to her age bracket. WE had a great day, but it really was a younger crowd. But I'm grateful they allowed me to accept it, as many promoters don't!
As for the Facebook comps, I've won quite a few of these, but I HATE the 'you must share' ones. Yes it's against the rules, but it's still rampant. And it just clogs up your news feed. If it's something I would reallllllly like, I do occasionally share, but if its not something that excited me, I scroll past

@roobycat I agree with you about the birth dates and age brackets. I wonder how many entries are drawn and discarded if the entrant does not meet the demographic. I suppose it depends on the integrity of the company.

Yes when filling it in and I get to the DOB part, I glance back at what the prize is, and think Hmmm, think I'm too old for this one. Fashion ones in particular

@TinaC I've been entering for about two years and have won 1 DVD, and been given 1 DVD to review.

@TinaC I actually emailed them to ask and it is a random generator..think I've done 3 or 4 reviews for them but none in last 12 months.

I am certainly no spring chicken. I just enter anything I am interested in regardless as it is too hard sometimes to second guess what they are looking for. If they are being selective then they should make that clearer in their t&cs. They could also just be collecting data for marketing purposes.

@Inwithachance it is simply called Fusion Chicken Rolls, a spiced quinoa filling wrapped in chicken to look similar to sushi. it had to incorporate Culpeppers ingredients in the recipe and we managed to make their ingredients the centerpiece.

@nassep haha, you just have to keep at it, I didn't win all that much in the beginning, but with experience you improve lol.

Wow @starfish that is quite a tally! I have been comping on and off for over 20 years. I go through periods of taking it seriously and times where I don't enter anything.

* bucket list would be an overseas holiday or large cash sum
* I am not big on 25 WOL as I have not had a lot of wins with those.
* a lot of my wins have been purchase to win comps but only for things I would buy anyway and I certainly do not stock my pantry with a 6 months supply just to win.
* my biggest prizes have been $1000 cash and $1000 westfield gift card.
* tally is hard to say but would have to be close to $10 000 over the years. (A lot of little things can add up).

I have been comping for 40 years so can't count or cost my wins over this time. Things have certainly changed with FB, Twitter etc but I still prefer the old fashioned 25WOL comps. Now my hubbie and I are on a pension, any wins are appreciated and most of them are used for gifts, even holidays as our needs are not so great materially anymore. I don't have abucket list because I like the surprises I find at the door or in the mailbox. I am going to keep doing it as long as my brain functions and there are interesting and creative comps to enter.

My biggest win was $1,932 for a dare in an online banking promotion. The win came painfully as I had to perform my winning dare before a film crew, for half a day!!! The result is still up on YouTube! Lol. Plenty of more minor wins, notably DVDs and books. These are always welcomed. I don't keep a tally. What's the point? I do enter WOL competitions, 'caption this' ones, esoteric and random. All good. I am selective though about what I enter. I'm not a super trawler.....
