Lol funny that you mention this. Every time I win something half decent, people always say 'what did you write?' to which I answer 'no idea'. I've been saying for months that I'll start keeping all my answers, but then I copy and paste about 3 and I'm over it lol. I really just type whatever comes into my head at the time, and ALL of my biggest wins in the 12 months I've been doing this (2 x $2000 cash, $500 cash, years supply of chocolate, 5 star weekend away, computer etc etc) have all been 25 WOL, so I focus on those more than anything now. I've had (what I think are) good answers win AND lose, and I've had very ordinary ones win, so you really just never know

Without getting into the middle of anything, and especially not getting anyone off side, as I'm not that kind of person, I think all that toxic is pointing out is that the company themselves have broken their own T&C's, which is what gets on ALL compers nerves. That's one thing that I DO expect, is that if they state rules, then they themselves must adhere to the rules. Otherwise there may as well not be any. I've seen some awesome comps that I would love to win, but then I see that I am ineligible either because of where I live, or age or whatever, so I leave it alone. I couldn't think of any worse feeling than 'winning' and then having that win taken off me. Although this one is only a very small prize, if it was something a lot bigger, then the company would find themselves in all kinds of trouble :-) ... just my two cents

@roobycat As you are unaware of previous issue/s please realise a) people move location,(once again, privacy and confidentiality) b) all that is happening here is someone who is blocked on Facebook and knows why is insisting on bothering someone else who has never done anything to him.
Recent remarks about McDonald's Fries and Coke Wins not being noteworthy, (though others entered , Won and commented thanking me), questioning a 'tea-towel' Win when as stated it's a piece of autographed Movie Memorabilia.
Regrettably in Comping there are those who are jealous and behave pitifully. I am and have always been a polite, respectful, friendly, encouraging person. I have said MANY times I cannot believe my Luck. My posts are to encourage others, let people see you CAN Win a lot! As I have said before.
As you said you don't want to get in the middle of something, it's probably best to realise when you don't know the full story you comment on an issue that is wider and entirely one sided. I have done nothing whatsoever to anyone.
My family and friends are aware of the whole blocking story and are entirely unimpressed by it.
There are many decent people on this Forum, then there are others. Thankyou.

@Inwithachance let me just thank you. I enjoy reading your posts about your wins. When I was first contemplating starting up comping as a hobby, I was reading these forums, and it was your posts that stuck out the most, so thank you. Its not all about the BIG wins, you keep me thinking a long the lines that a 'win is a win not matter how small' (to rephrase dr sues). Sometimes I get discouraged that I have only won small items (although a few), but then I read your posts and realise it all adds up, and the more you keep entering, the more chance you have of that BIG win). If people only ever posted the BIG wins, this would be a very boring forum. I often wonder how you find so many competitions, especially on facebook (seriously I would LOVE to know lol). Also, I don't comment too much on here any more, after a comment was made on one of my posts about not being entitled to the win (the natgeo camera comp) - I still am not sure why my post was targeted, but it was. I know not everyone is like that, but Id rather try and avoid it as much as possible. I do enjoy reading about wins though, so please don't stop posting - thank you again - cheers Shannon

I don't know the history but I noticed that some of the comments seemed to be judgemental. There is nothing to say you can only post wins over x amount of dollars. I enjoy comping but I didn't know it was a competitive sport in itself. I thought the point of this forum was to share our wins and encourage each other not to put others down. If someone doesn't agree with someone else's post then you can ignore it or if it really bothers you report to admin.

@roobycat That is absolutely fine roobycat. I realised you were doing your best to comment sensibly, though out of context. I have noticed you are ALWAYS a straightforward, friendly, fun person. One thing though, in fairness to myself, the 'history' IS one-sided and like the person that instigated it, an outright bore. Best of Luck for a Big Win for you soon!

When you are good natured and like seeing people happy, it IS difficult to comprehend the malice behind the puerile drivel some malcontents spout. Before I started Comping I always wondered how 'Winners' did it and thought Good Luck to them. Now that I am one, I can only say how nice it is that you would take the time to be supportive and encouraging. Dignity suggests it is always best to ignore foul people. However, there are times when it is best to intervene before matters become worse. After MONTHS of jealous, petty, sniping; today I thought best to comment. Ofcourse I'll keep posting, you don't let miserys spoil the fun. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! : )

Google returns a lot of pages stating that it's a scam website, and it puts viruses on your computer. As for the competitions, apparently they never list winners, probably because there are none. Best to surf Google and do a bit of research before you visit them.

@MammaPigga84 Yes, they send emails regularly trying to get you to buy stuff that looks old and outdated (something my Nana would buy), but each email usually comes with an entry into their latest draw, even if you say No, so it's worth it. I haven't received any letters in the post from them for a very long time, not like the old days when you use to get the fat envelopes full of marketing stuff.

I kept getting the letters in the mail, prob last year. Had to tell them the person is no longer at the address , finally it stopped

Lol this is so funny that you mention this! Today, I FINALLY received a prize I've been chasing. Not as big as yours, it's a $160 electric shaver - but decent enough prize. I won it on June 1st. I messaged my details to them as requested, straight away, and 3 weeks later, the message still hadn't even been read, so I posted a message onto their wall. They were updating their status, but STILL nobody replied to read my previous messages. Right, game on ....

I messaged them again a week or so later, and surprisingly, got some lame excuse of 'oh we sent that when you won it. Are you sure you haven't received it? Errrm, well no, I wouldn't be chasing you if I had it now, would I? To that the reply I got was simply 'ok, never fear'. (strange message. What does THAT mean?) I then replied, 'well I don't know where it would've been sent, because the message with my address on it, hasn't even been read until today? I didn't get a reply to that one.

Couple weeks later AGAIN, still nothing, LAST FRIDAY I saw them update a status which started something like 'we're desperately seeking (whatever it was). Do you know anyone ... etc etc.' I replied to that status, well I'm desperately seeking a prize I won from you nearly two months ago now. Please advise as to when it will be received. Up pops a private message: 'Oh I'm sorry, you still haven't received it? Sorry about that. This has never happened before. I'll pop another one in the mail today, in the next half hour infact, and if the other one turns up, please keep that as well.' (don't worry mate, I WILL be)!

Now this is a Melbourne based company. My daughter lives in Melbourne, and if either of us posts something to the other, it's delivered the very next day. YESTERDAY (5 working days after he said he's posted it) I messaged yet AGAIN! To which I get 'oh you should have it tomorrow'. SHAZAM! What turns up today in an express post satchel, posted just yesterday? Yep, my prize. Funny that! Must've gone via Darwin or something.

Anyway, yes, pursue pursue pursue. Yes it's something for free, but if they aren't going to give out the prizes they promise, they shouldn't run competitions. IF it was just something like a candle or a hat or anything of not much value, I wouldn't waste my time or energy, but when it's something significant - SICK 'EM! Fair enough if it's a simple oversight, but don't lie to me and tell me you've posted it (especially more than once) when you haven't!

I have had several Prizes to chase up. One took 10 weeks. To begin with I messaged several times re who had Won. Then when I found out I was one of the Winners I sent my details. It took many messages and weeks to get it. Valued at approx $170. Companies have had their promotion from the Comp, they should honour it. Partly it could be out of sight out of mind once the Comp is over, partly the distributor BUT ultimately they should be Professional and Businesslike and make sure to deliver the Prize you were awarded. Good Luck!

I usually chase it up once or twice, but if the prize is just a DVD or something low in value, I usually just write it off if it doesn't arrive. I've had prizes turn up long after the competition, and one even turned up before they announced the winner. I consider it karmic when one doesn't arrive, like the universe owes me one. It encourages me to think I'll win a bigger prize next time.

Thanks for those responses guys, all very welcome and it makes me want to keep at them as the prize is $999 large screen TV. Although I have had no response to my last emails - simply saying "I as yet had no contact from the local Harvey Norman" (as promised by them in prior emails)

If the company you are having trouble with has a Facebook page, post something on there directly. It's public, and they don't like negative publicity. It's the only way I got the mob I dealt with, to act!

I won a Samsung vacuum cleaner that took months to get. Had to keep chasing it. Ended up going on their online help chat did the trick. I reckon one arm of the company started talking to the other.
The Stratco Win One Wednesday took a second email but sorted out pretty quickly.

I never mentioned I had won!! But let them know the winner is still waiting on his TV he won.
