Did anyone happen to get the code word for "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" on Sunday night. I watched the whole show and nope, no code word relating to the tenplay competition advertised.
I've Won
| BYOjet - Win a trip to Singapore, New Zealand or a BYOjet Travel Voucher
Just letting you guys know real people do actually win like and share competitions. I entered this one and found out on Thursday night that I won the first prize -flights to Singapore. Excited is an understatement!
Still just one guess once again - certainly an issue that keeps happening which I hope will be rectified one day soon, It seems to happen every time! I am also missing guessing game points too!!
I have started my 4th 1000 comp challenge. Entering 20 comps a day for 50 days. If you want to follow along I am posting the 20 comps I am entering at this page - https://www.facebook.com/WinAndGrin/
@Smalot11 It must be sitting at your place if can already see it. haha :)
Yeah, it's off to a good start with winning two "skilled" based competitions. That's 2 more then I had, period! Well, a touch of luck with both. Not much luck on the random draws so far.
I haven't been keeping a close eye out for washing machines. Can't recall seeing many about guess can think of two. One random and one creative for a $1000 voucher which almost forgot, however for the cost of their machines you still need some decent cash.
So far this year just tech prizes the headphones and to be confirmed by this arvo a $200 keyboard. The keyboard is a weekly leaderboard comp. Just checking that now I'll preemptively call the win with only a few hours to go as have a clear lead. :)
Haha yes the washing machine I won last year is going very well :) That's great news on the keyboard, let me know this afternoon when your announced as the winner. I'm yet to win a creative entry this year but did get lucky in a random draw from coca cola and won a $250 Red Balloon voucher.
@Smalot11 lol. Comping can be too funny at times. Had one funny moment on the weekend when passed on a comp to a nice contact and they won.
I won that leaderboard comp for a nice keyboard, thou haven't got the confirmation email yet. Just reading any fine print it might be a few days until they confirm the winners. Keeping an eye out for those elusive winning emails is always "fun". At least for site membership style competitions, I know when expecting a winning email.
Was for a global competition were pick at least 10 ESport winners each week for 1 of 3 tech prizes. You might recognize the details from a few months back, promoted via gleam comp when they also had additional small PayPal prizes. Been doing for a while, working out some sort of strategy. Knowing which teams not to pick against, understanding the points system or just blind luck always helps. Considering won with more loses then winning picks a combination of all three. :)
Known for a few days was an excellent chance of winning or top 3 at worse, waiting for any late charges up the leaderboard. In hindsight, probably could've held off one for an easy pick.
I've done quite well in the last year on the exclusive member leaderboard competitions. It must be my forte. lmao
Congrats on the Red Balloon I noticed that was purchase competition a couple of weeks and left an upvote. I've avoided Red Balloon as didn't realize what can use the vouchers for.
I had a quick peek at the page looks you've got things well organized to keep on top of things, makes for a nice FB notepad to help to check back etc. I've done similar in the past with a summary style using just a few posts for various categories and an overall list in the past. Then within the comments put each individual comp. It was a bit of work maintaining it and summaries were sorted according to the date closed. I might resume it one day when got things automated a touch.
When you've hundreds of comps there's a lot of scrolling, if using hashtags that might help quickly locate the comp looking for. I've used unique hashtags for that purpose. The scrolling now isn't such a big issue with the faster PC however, with the old PC that was a royal pain. A pinned post is great to say put a summary up. I don't think can pin multiple posts and annoying if got a few posts always want towards the top of a page. You can bump them up. I was constantly doing that every time did a batch of updates.
Hmm, could be some reservations which mentioned on why someone might not winning as often. Sometimes good intentions can be taken advantage of. It depends on whether the pros outway the cons. Generally, nothing to worry about too much, more to aware of and might consider for those ODD occasions. Eg the headphone comp and the one a contact won on the weekend had to consider those factors.
@Smalot11 Thanks. Update for the keyboard they cant send to Australia despite the contact themselves was an Aussie, instead they award roughly $140 via PayPal. That will be towards the washing machine fund.
I'll keep on plugging away with that comp as it's weekly and cash. 3x52 chances at a leaderboard comp. Woot!!!! Mind you about 500 participants. That should brigde those winning gaps between leaderboards. :)
Totally agree, prefer the PayPal for more urgent needs, they paid 75% value of the keyboard. Thou in Australia it retails around $200-250.
Four cash & groceries wins in a week. I've never had such a roll. Should thank who posted regarding not winning as much that got me thinking. Plus having the new PC helps heaps.
@Lemond little fish are sweet as they say, nice work buddy, love reading about the booty, big and small, keeps da wheels turning, although the revolutions are getting bigger, regards :)
@Trevsta Thanks :). Yeah chipping away. Still not bad for a week around $300 in cash/groceries. Think my run of the leaderboard has dried up and need to start looking elsewhere rattling the tin can.
Be nice to get one of the decent cash ones however they generally get heaps of attention. There were less than 10 entries, so I better odds at that then decent daily random points today. A bit of luck and made a fair bit of it by doing some legwork scrounging around. That's only half the challenge.
Would have won close to $1,000 in cash & Coles/Myer in the last 12 months, a good portion from my sponsors Competitions.com.au and Eftpos :)
Does anyone know of competitions on that are on Twitter. All the ones i have seen are all international, i can't seem to find any in Australia. Thank you
Yes, that's what i had noticed. Thank you. Also Bet365 on Twitter are running a comp for big bash. Just a follow and a retweet. I have already won twice. $75 and then $50. You just pick what you think the highest top batsmans score will be. If you guess the correct score you win. Starts at $50 and goes up $25 each time. It goes into your online Bet365 account, and you can withdraw the funds, so you do not have to bet that money. Unsure if you don't have an account and what happens then, I'd say that they would deposit funds in your bank. If i do happen to find to find any comps, i will post them here for other people
@Smalot11 I chat with a bunch of UK compers will ask them how often they use Twitter. I do notice a lot of USA and UK twitter comps in the feed. Argh sorting through various social media looking for nice international ones takes time.
@WillWin1Day Hmm for Aussie comps just on twitter. I don't use twitter enough mainly due it takes dedication to juggle competitions across multiple social media. On average just a few exclusive twitter comps each month. I'd probably find more via Youtube then Twitter. Usually, most are run across or advertised on multiple social media, mainly due to they're focussed on funding their Youtube and Twitch channels. Twitch there you go another untapped social media to scrounge for competitions. Also will add Discord.
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Twitch and Discord that's a juggling act.
Reminds me got one on Discord to complete ASAP. :)
@WillWin1Day Probably the biggest factor you don't see many Aussie Twitter comps it helps if you're in touch with what's circulating about. I could go scrounging about and bound to stumble across a few. Most times it's a matter of knowing where to start looking. Following the trail of breadcrumbs usually leads to an ants nest. :)
Thanks heaps. Twitter seems to be my friend(touch wood) I have won 3 things so far, all from Twitter. $125 on my betting account, and yesterday wanderers vs Pheonix tickets with 3 of my mates in a corperate box! I only started doing comps roughly 6 weeks ago! Just don't want to get to hyped up with comps, because i know, you can't win them all. Although i did have an issue with my twitter account twice, due to improper use, so gathered i was following and retweeted comps constantly for all different things, so just be aware, that don't do follows often, as they can limit your use and potentially ban you. As you said, follow the bread crumbs, and that's what i do now, so definitely good advice there for other people to use!
@Admin. I cashed in points last week to go into my paypal account. The msg on the screen said will be processed in 1 or 2 days., yet still not received. Last time, it took weeks and weeks for the payment to come through after a lot of emails and messages. Please can you process the transaction asap, otherwise why bother with the point system.
I'll give a week or two. I can't recall how long the last time took in December. By the time it goes to Paypal then to the bank account allow a few weeks. It just goes into my account for paying bills. It used to be a lot easier and quicker.
Any luck the @admin will notice and process it ASAP for you. :)
Thanks @Lemond, last time took a lot longer than usual, apparently my cash-out got misplaced :-( So this time I thought I would chase it up earlier. When it was finally processed last time, it showed up in my paypal straight away, and was in my bank account the next morning.
wow I would love to be getting points often enough to cash them in as regularly as you two, let alone making note of how long it takes to get your money. (not complaining or moaning just noticing, that's all) (or asking for tips EITHER for that matter)
@wolverine lmao. Well, it took ages to win the first time. With luck, you get your droughts then win in batches at times.
I had Compbuxs waiting to reach the $50 level which sat on for ages from a couple of 3rd's. You lose too many Compbux cashing out at the $30 level. It could be while before I reach that level again.
You know how it is with bills that need to be paid, they don't wait. Just hope it sorts out quickly for @Try2win.
haha, some lucky number guesses @wolverine. Last time when I did cash in, turned out it was just 'deleted', by accident :( and yep have now been paid the latest one, thanks @admin.
Woot won my first creative competition for a pair of nice $340 headphones.
Reading and understand the terms and conditions DOES make a difference as was judged the most "creative" by default. Everyone else answered incorretctly for one part of the question and were either distracted by the prize, copied from the first response thinking it was correct or didn't read the T&C's clearly. I'll chalk down the win to the ability to read the T&C's.
Thou if I had read them a touch more thoroughly would of realised it's pick up interstate. It was an Australian wide competition and just didn't notice way down the bottom of the T&C's regarding pick up instore and no stores in my state. Currently waiting back on if they will post or need to organise pickup.
There's lesson there somewhere always read all of the T&C's. :)
Agree it's an awesome prize will go well with my iPad Pro won and been meaning to get headphones for it. I've got a lot of other priorities. X fingers winning a washing machine or cash.
Hopefully they will post or at worse need to organise delivery. They still haven't read my message and will probably sort itself out Monday.
Was commical for my first creative win. Might as well do it in style with a "Steven Bradury" moment. Any members got any funny competition stories to add? :)
My answer was inspired by the lyrics to Stay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h--P8HzYZ74 to fit the competition questions and creativity. Towards the question being what do you think they're listening to in the silent TV commercial. Reading between the lines, my response reads like "If you've read the T&C's and checked what they sell online you would know the answer." They also they dropped a hint "How observant are you? Usually I'm thourough reading all of the T&C's, the irony. hahaha
There were 3 prizes for Beats headphones the other winners were decided soley on creativity from everyone who all stated the incorrect answer to what headphones they were wearing. I can't belive everyone else just went with what the prize was even thou didn't look like what was in video. Thou I put a "touch" of effort in. They mentioned it was too long to repost the winner's response. I couldn't help myself and added a dozen reasons why as well. Was wise that changed the lyric to a dozen reasons from a thousand. lmao
Also if anyone has been in that predictament, where are required to pickup and it's physically impossible, what solutions they have used or what to avoid?
Bit before Christmas won a prize, turned out pick-up only, luckily my sister lived just 5 minutes up the road and they let her pick it up for me. Hope they either post or let someone pick it up for you.
Yes I seem to get 2 guesses at beginning of week. All good though, cant complain, although I still never win. I guess will be discontinued anyway now that leaderboard is going
Why are some competitions giving away flights and only ONE night's accomodation. I don''t get it. The flights maybe delayed and then you can barely enjoy your holiday.
I saw one with flights, one nights accommodation and tickets to a sporting event and dinner. You can't attend both.
Just wondering. I used to win say 10-15 prizes a month. I'm doing nothing different now but lucky to get 1. Over time do people notice the same thing, is it time to change my email address or are there so many people doing competitions now the golden days are over? Thanks!
Not much to go on apart from not winning as many prizes.
You might need to reinvent your "strategy" and sounds like resting on previous laurels and require to find new "hunting ground". Initially a promoter might be off radar thou that doesn't last forever. There can may various reason why having less success apart from increase in participants. With a bit legwork can still find "off radar" competitions, the challenge might be keeping those low key or praying they get overlooked. Not as easy as it sounds with the way social media work and competitions. I've seen that first hand a quite a few times with competitions been off radar then within hours go wild once a few pick up the scent.
It all depends what they majority of entry types of competitions doing. Random draws expect a bit of effort entering more competitions to pick up the same amont of wins. Or get smarter about them. They aren't all created equal. eg tagging comps etc etc. Also one of reasons may be harder to win. For random competitions they don't get much better odds then leaderboard with about 1/10 shot each month with around 40ish active members. Shh thou don't let that get out. lol
One good win can be better then dozens of prizes. @Samlot11 might agree that finding yourself a forte to work on can be more rewarding. WOL and creative entries which take more time and effort generally spread more slowly and attract less entries.
What you think @Samlot11 , doing your 1,000 comp challenge and the blog post help reassess your successful methods? :)
More people are doing comps as times are hard and everyone wants something for nothing so the odds are just stacked up against you. Plain and simple really. Its hard to win a F.B comp these days as everyone is on the band wagon. At the start of comps appearing on F.B it was easy to win, those days are gone.
@lemond like I tell everybody, if you stick with it long enough and strong enough you are bound to win! I have won prizes on Facebook with thousands of entries where as other times I have done a creative 25WOL entry on Facebook that I thought was a winner with only 20 other entrants and lost.
OK thanks, maybe it's just a general trend - you start off strong and it tails off! I do enter lots of comps not on this website. I get the impression either there are many more compers these days or e.g. if you've won once, they might rule you out next time to give others a chance
I agree you need to persistent and determined. There's luck and then there's statistics and may take a bit of dedication to win consistently some might get lucky a win a few things without much effort on the first few tries ,thou the majority (all the rest the entered that same comp etc) will have to keep trying. It took me a few months for the first prize a DVD and around 6 months before starting getting a few consistent wins and over a year and 1/2 for this site.
I won my ipad pro with keyboad with odds arounnd 1/3000. So never let the odds stop you enter. I don't expect that to happen to often. Sometimes knowing the rough odds you can estimate the effort required to give yourself a reasonable chance. One comp comes to mind where that probably helped.
Usualy FB comps somewhere about 300-500 about how many active aussie compers about , plus the core fanbase of the promoter. If the majority of competitions finding at that participation levels you need to enter a decent amount of competitons like that video you saw. Then it's pot luck for which prize you win if entering various prizes. It nice to have a few decent odds competitions and X fingers pick up a few consistent wins between long shots.
To win like 10 to 15 a month I'd place bets a decent amount were probably from creative competitions where having a forte or persistence with those would help. Either that were finding a lot of low odds draws or stategies to give yourself a decent chance.
Yes more might be doing competitions or at least from the popular promoters and if following the masses or what's just listed on competition sites and being "lazy" doesn't help your chances. What I'm saying you sometimes doing a bit of legwork to find specific prizes of interest and/or off radar. Occassionaly will come across a few when go scrounging about. Not something done for a while as takes a bit of time.
One factor is not just the growing trend in number of participants but also how easy to find regular competitions and how readily they circulate among the compers, especially on Facebook. You just need to keep an eye out out what's circulating about on FB. Pros and cons with FB easy to find competitions thou if they are low odds that could change in a blink of an eye. Get the impression that a lot dont regularily use the various sites and mainly focus what's circulating on FB. A few times seen competitions listed on sites would of expected a lot more entries giving me that impression.
Mixing it up a bit from various sources and search methods might help a touch. The con it takes bit of time to hunt down competitions off radar and no guarantees it will stay off radar for long. X fingers at least long enough to win once. :)
@Smalot11 lmao good luck. :) Strangely seems off the main comping radar quickly looking on FB where I tripped over it doing a mini general explore. Then checked elsewhere if was already posted and sure enough. I'm not noticing the usual suspects which I use as indicators if a competition has gone "wild". Of course will get attention with the value of the prize in the general public . It's amazing say on the JB-HI posts get masses of entries and prizes like that might get a fraction.
Sometimes I'll do a quick check of a facebook comp for the usual suspects and guage if gone wild especially if it's low entry. Most times don't bother as it becomes a hassle to remember to get back to them. One of factors for picking up some regular wins is finding a few regular off radar ones. Thou if a promoter is doing regular giveaways they don't stay that way for long.
You used to win what!!!! I have been on this site doing competitions for over 5 years and I haven't so much won a tram ticket! I am an old age pensioner and by doing these competitions is my only hope of ever again going on another holiday.... I suppose I can just hope that something may happen before I'm shuttled off this mortal coil. :-)
@Donald4564 Has the site being going that long? Hmm I haven't seen any competitions for tram tickets I'll have to keep an eye out for you. Best I can do at the moment is some rave tickets or for the tennis. :)
Thanks @bexibex you probably helped me a touch for winning a nice prize, regarding why not winning and doing a few things that should do more often. Sometimes you need to do a bit of scrounging about for nice competitions then pray they go relatively unnoticed.
I think..............................arrived home to find a package with a Google Home thingy, no note, pretty sure I did not buy one for myself, so that's a bonus present. I range Google to thank/clarify, but no joy they did not seem to know anything about it although it was their return to sender address, a real mystery as it is not the usual thing I enter, oh well, it's been a while since a win, so I'm happy.
Nice surprise! I received a prize like that 2 years ago but with no return address so I had to go back through all my entries to find out who to thank.
Receptionist at Google was not helpful at all as I really would like to thank someone for the prize, oh well, I'm stumped as I use the enter, forget and move on system.
@Smalot11, just curious how you went with your comping challenge! I remember that you were well on your way to lots of fantastic wins after winning so many! :) Happy new year to everyone too! :)
1-1000 comps entered from the 14.8 - 7.10. Won 23. 17 still to be drawn. Biggest prize won so far, new iPhone 7 128GB
1001-2000 comps entered from 9.10 - 27.11 Won 30, 42 still to be drawn. Biggest prize won so far, 10kg Whirlpool Washing Machine
Currently working on 2001-3000
2017 was my first full year comping, won a total of 163 prizes. Didn't start tracking comps entered until after I found the 1000 comp challenge.
I have found
* 20 comps a day can at times be quite challenging apart from xmas time where it becomes overwhelming trying to keep up :) * By keeping track I actually find it more enjoyable and can easily keep track of what I've entered * I need to dedicate 1-3 hours a day especially towards the more creative (25 WOL) answers to enter 20 per day * The more I enter the more I win
As a stay at home parent comping has provided so many experiences that my family wouldn't have had this year, it also means I can contribute in a small way to the family budget with some gift cards here and there. all of which I am very grateful for.
Now to win that new car in 2018 :)
Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer
That's a very positive result! @smalot11, Congratulations on all your wins! :) Certainly beats the 4 that the author of that article won. Just one question if you don't mind, how do you track the competitions that you've entered without eating too much into valuable comping time? Yes, every win helps with the budget :) Here's to a fantastic year and a new car :) Happy New Year!
@fourleaf Thank you. Just a simple notebook with comp name, prize, prize value and draw date. Then going back and highlighting prizes won or prizes announced and drawn. I'm not sure if it would work for others but I find it the simplest method for me.
As for the 4/1000 wins I think he may have shot himself in the foot with the magazine comps he entered. If similar to That's Life or Take 5 in Australia even though your entering 56 comps you only have a chance at winning one because once your name is drawn you don't go back in the pool.
I really like the notebook idea, I often use one as well although I may have to get into the habit of using it again. I like the fact that it's portable as often I go and sit in my backyard (overgrown jungle) :) Yes could have tried to boost his daily total that way, those ones are difficult to win I think. :)
@fourleaf Yes I'm the same I might enter a few comps while I'm getting the kids from school or similar so easy just to make a note. And I think you're right it was an easy was to boost daily numbers :) Great minds hey hahaha
@lemond, I was lucky to sneak into the top 40, lol. Got 3's the last few days, ended up with a monthly tally of just over 140 for daily points. New month, new day, always live in hope.
@Try2win Lmao. Top 40 should almost be a given unless there was a slight influx of "active" members.
New year, new month, new hope and a new computer. :)
Finally got all the components together for nice computer which built Christmas morning. Now I actually read the screen clearly to see what I'm entering.
First to guess correctly or closest. They must of guessed that number before you.
How to Play Simply guess the number we have picked and win the prize. Every week, the first entry that picks the number or is the closest, wins! Playing the game is absolutely free.
@Mamma Well unless your about sitting in around 200+ position you're far from last position.
Why not higher on the leader board then potentially could be? It appears you might of missed a couple of days of the guessing game i.e 50 x day of the month it should be 750 points as at Dec 15th. 50 points is a significant amount and missing even one day will almost place you at the bottom of the active members around 35th+. There's approximately 35-45 active members on average each month which varies.
You might get away with missing two days of 50 bonus and scrape into the top 50. That depends on how many active members. Active members meaning the ones the do everyday all the bonus and tick off most competitions posted before expiring and/or the end of month. Also including the other profile bonuses. If you don't do those you're don't have a genuine chance.
The daily process: *Visit the home screen which generates your daily random bonus (1-10). That sorts out the active members. *Do the guessing game every day (Prerequisite for having a genuine chance) *Click on the enter for new competitions posted within the month before expiring or end of month (Can afford to miss a few thou it may make the difference of winning a prize if scores are tight.
I can't properly make out the left side of the screen properly so someone else will have to confirm if you have missed doing any of the daily guessing game. Also possible missed clicking on some competitions posted this month before they have expired. Occassionally there may be glitches with the guessing game bonus not registering. If you notice it best to notify the admin ASAP on that day.
Apart from that X fingers and pray for a month of decent daily random scores as the leader board is predominately a random competition aimed at "active members".
@Try2win Oh gee that's fairly low. You'll probably end up around 130-120 random daily scores by the end of the month. It's possible to get lower thou from memory statistically would be extremely unlucky. Hmm (206-55)/16 = about 9.4 for the rest of the month to win. Top 3 about 8.75. So..... you probably already guessed it's highly unlikely will end up top 3. There's still a sliver of hope!
Recommendation: You're more likely win the eftpos competition this month. There's still time to get your entries in.
I "generally" find when doing crap on the leader board I win something nice in another competition. Congrats on your new phone.
@Mamma I've just broken a string of twos with a 4 and a 7 today - one of my highest scores this month. It just happens that way sometimes. Sigh @moreofachance probably not a good time to be teasing Anna about her scores afterall it's coming up Christmas. Good luck with the rest of the Christmas comps.
@Mamma I almost missed todays guessing game. Always a first. The hint that might of missed it was sitting in around 30th which is usually around where members who have missed one day sit on the leader board .
You get one point for every competition that was posted within the month that you click the enter button on. It then changes to viewed. You don't need to complete entry to the competition just have to viewed it. You should notice your score increase by one for each competition viewed since refreshed the page.
I thought that was me always last! But actually I think it only shows the top 40 or whatever and then shows your place next - and Ive never been anywhere close to that high! But anyway there prob could be heaps behind you but just does not show that. Im currently no. 107

Totally pumped....1st win for the year a $100.00 voucher! Nicorette competition....no I don't smoke either but if I did I would certainly be trying to give up with their product :) :)
@Try2win Argh I know they're multiplying. I'm still trying to find a few I really like. Haven't even checked my list from last year or done any serious searching. There's a few nice one's there.
At least this way it should be quicker if see anything interesting.in.
@Brookemaree93 lmao. There's a lot more about and just adding a few as come across them. There's probably at least three times that circulating about. Only entering the few I'm interested and this year as my heart isn't in the advent comps. I'm feeling the better for i compared to last year. Unlikely I'll be stocking up another years supply of wine from Xmas comps. Plus I've still got a bottle of cognac to pick up won from a couple of weeks ago. :)
If I'm really organised by next year it really could be a exhausting list, even for the determined. That involves a integregrating a couple of databases and programs that are halfed baked. That's on hiatus with PC issues making things close to impossible the last few months. That was aiming to at the next stage before specifically for this years advent comps. Still a lot of work to do on that and taking it slowly. See where it is in 6 months time.
The various sites help and provide enough to keep most busy. It depends on how selectively looking for specific prizes. If they're well circulated everyone man and his dog is also entering andl doing your own searching can be rewarding. Argh a couple of times this year came close to 50/50 chances for decent prizes. Thou once you start having to reqularily search about the legwork gets time consuming . It's so easy to get distracted by the mass of competitions while exploring.
The "GodFather" would be @toxicgherkin. I'm still an apprentice with trying to hack through this jungle of comps.
@Brookemaree93 They're still about. I'll send some of that good karma for the eftpos comp. It's been rubbing off on a few nice contacts :) I won the eftpos again.
Wow Trevsta 's NY trip win sounds amazing. I had a small adventure today (St Kilda pier) was for a a loot drop for XBoxes etc. They did one for Melbourne, Sydney and Brissy. To my suprise was dropped really close to me. Sadly I was too slow. It went within 10 min. I'm and about 5 away by tram. Well was a exciting change of pace for a competitoin. I havent run down a tram in ages.
Yeah comps can be fun once in a while and some amazing opportunities. At the moment I'm happy with the small cash wins accumulated this year. Overall not a bad year it's been majority cash/coles myers vouchers around $600 which have come in handy.
Dear Admin I think you're given me too many points. I logged in sometime after 1.00 am and I'm sure I was awarded points for visiting the page. I've just logged in again to check out any new competitions and my score jumped up again without doing anything to earn a point. Can you check for me please. Thanks.
I've never come across that scenerio where thought got too many points. Most likely it was daily random points for visiting the home page which when refreshed the page later on showed up on the your total. I'd place bets someone had a long night and seeing double. :)

I cant believe it. I'm starting to win things. This product is fantastic and I really had my hopes up. Thanks Competitions.com and Beauty haven. Keep up the entries guys you will win!
Hi my name is Jo Lee and I am addicted to comping, my first step to sobriety is recognition to this heinous habit, I mean it's now like 1:30am and I'm on this comp site, had my fix, til tomorrow! Like getting medicine each day except its comping stuff, sshh :)
@Smalot11 I get the same feeling when midnight rolls over or the end of the month.
Hope everyone is doing well for the XMAS comps. So far haven't got into the groove for diving in for the XMAS rush and will start easing into a few today. Do we have a post for a quick list of any the 12 days of XMAS? Would be appreciated due to some technical difficulties making reading challenging.
@Lemond I've only done the ones on OzBargain, just search 12 Days Of Christmas. The is a list started on one of the Facebook comps page, I'll look and see if I tag you in it.
@Smalot11 Yeah there's some great contributors that work nonstop there. I struggle to keep up with one in particular. Slowly working a list for the reoccurring ones interested in. With the various sites they get buried in haystack if miss the initial post and If lucky catch catch them on closing day.
I had more 1's and 2's last month then ever, plus missed out on 50 of the guessing game ... and @spyglass you've been in top 3 plenty of times .. I've never been there.
They are keeping me at low numbers '2' .. I raised the question and they will keep on giving me low numbers as punishment by the looks of it..
And since the game wasn't adjusted and I missed out on 50 points I only get one guess this month...
@Winner1 not sure what happened that month.. pretty. sure it will never happen again .. random. means everyone gets a chance not the selected preferred few ... I haven't seen some around for a long time....
I've been out of work for eons and every little bit would help ... if this months is same as November was then I'm gone ..
@anna2077, this post is nothing to do with the daily random points. I started this post because I was only given 1 guess in the daily guessing game, though entitled to 2 daily guesses. Stay positive, and hope the numbers fall in your favour this month.
@Try2win I have one guess for the second day in a row as well .. I've lost faith .... Since I've joined in 2014 there has been nothing .. not even bonus points on my birthday when it was my birthday ... it's only meant for some not all .. some complain and their points improve .. I mention it and I get mostly numbers under 5....
Yeah, got 2 guesses today, thanks @admin for fixing this problem. Now, just need the money to show up in my paypal account that I cashed out of compbux back on the 20th of last month :-(
@admin Was there any news regarding last months leader board winners? I suspect no members in the top 10 from last month received their compbux prize.
The issue of one guess for the guessing game seems to be a related with the leader board results from last month that haven't been processed.. That determines for the following month if members have single or double guesses.
@Anna2077 I think @moreofachance trick this year is to pull those 10's out of their ... hat. I'm due for my fair share of 10's. After my week 3 start didn't think would make the top few. Had like a total of less then 10 from 4 days in a row.
@purplesp8y Must of been real unlucky it looked around a week to go they were going to win by a furlong.
Surely this month @Anna2077 your luck will turn around. Well any month soon...
@Lemond tell someone who will believe you ... if the game was fair then everyone would get a chance .. but since only few always win ... and when you don't get the scores that you are entitled to like guessing game... the game is thrown ... no point in trying... if the game will be fair then daily points will be removed ..
Cheer up @Anna2077, I had a second and two thirds in three years and have never had a first on the leaderboard. Scores can be disheartening but try focusing on the comps. Quitx are giving away 100's of free movie tickets, it sounds like you deserve a good movie... Did you send a direct message to admin? Hopefully they'll fix it for you ??
@fourleaf I joined in 2014.. my best in all the years was being at #5. I didn't get all the guessing game scores and the admin didn't''t bother to fix it. I don't enter many comps .. only what I need
Some have worked out how to make the game work for them to be always on top ..
I get to see movies via subscriptions ..
Posted a message in the forum and was ignored and this month I only get one 'lucky' number guess ..
@Anna2077 I am hearing you loud and clear.I am lucky if I even get 1 10 a month and get so many 1,s and 2,s it's rediculouus.I also notice many of the same names are often in the top 10 each month every time.I have been a member for 5 years and never have been in top 5 but did win the guessing game once soon after I joined.I notice my points are always pretty close to yours
@Anna2077 All members get the same chance EVERY month..
Probably one of the biggest influences are the simple "skill" components for the major bonus. eg Complete profile, add a pic and do the daily guessing game. Seems like there're hundreds of "floating" members which don't do that. It's up to them to be active and complete those simple requirements to maximise their chances.
It's possible I could of have been top if had been on the ball this month or out of the top bunch if too many slip ups. There wasn't much in it between first and fifth. When you finally get lucky with the daily points to be a genuine chance it helps if maximise your chances as possible. From there you just X your fingers and patiently wait for your lucky daily points to come up.
Lemond, I think your very wise and always courteous and diligent, probably should try umpiring cricket! This ain't Rocket Science and it's only a game, although some take it way too serious and to heart, the rulz say every comper has to be a happy camper! Good Luck you legend!!!
Lemond is the Papa Smurf of comping and our adjudicator for issues and advice, everyone Hail The King, for he is a living legend of sound mind and character!!!
@Anna2077 Congratuations on your extraordinary spiritual insight and such ironic comedic timing of your gift. May it result in an infectious mass outbreak of good Karma throughout the comping land. Thank you for providing such a thoughtful gift which becomes pure comedy gold in when in reference to my blessed week. If I wasn't also distracted sharing your enthusiasm, your statement could be interpreted to representate the opposite of the embodiment of good Karma. We can only presume you weren't intentional attempting to offend the antaryami who resides inside us? That would only be contrary to your unqualified wisdom you were trying to protray.
You also must of been so overcome with your rush to spread all the good Karma you invertly made some tiny oversights. You wouldn't want to confuse your new followers. Possibly you intended to state "Bad Karma results in you stop winning" etc . To help you achieve your karmic cleanse you'll need to differentiate Karma, good Karma and bad Karma. Karma is a spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions influence the future. It encompass both good and bad Karma. Given that divine knowledge you could soon be on the start and first step of the journey to cleanse any residing bad Karma
What masterful comedic timing and exceptional irony and your statement is on so many previous states of existence, which has decided my fate with another unexpected future of a good Karma existence. Either I've been courting good Karma or her twin sister, Fortuna this week, it's impossible to tell them apart! I'll thank them both for the divine week for their well appreciated and timely gifts.
The first gift was from one my favourite sponsors, Eftpos. This was due to surprised influx of good Karma and despite only having submitted very few entries an unexpected individual greatly attributed to my fortunate resulting gift. This could of been the result of attributing the last few months due towards their site in my own usual and instinctive way. One thousand blessings in return towards that person . :)
The second gift will be from our generous competition site that provided another timely gift
The third divine gift this week was a Laser X 817 Crash Cam. Thou I don't drive this gift may spread untold Karma as coincidental, or was it good Karma?, a good mate that I hadn't heard from for ages unexpected dropped by, of all days the first day Comparmageddon or as I refer to it, forgive me "The 12 days of Hell" I cherish their unexpected divine timing and helping out when most needed. They have exceptiional timing for materializing on the exact same day when I was previously gifted such genourous items.
Good Karma and/or Fortuna have been extrermely appreciated this week and possibly sensed how urgently I require a new computer. These gifts will help achive my nobel goal and will enable the continuation of spreding your wisdom.
@Anna2077 Thank you for your best wishes. You've blessed again in multitudes, beginning with yet another 9 to start my day off. How do you do it?
Appologies If I didn't adorn thee soul to your satisfaction. I was overwhelmed by the mass of good karma you sent. The timing of your divine message must of come directly from the heavens to have such a spontaneous result. Shouldn't we share your success and aspire how to obtain such divine powers, so that we all can pass on such good Karma at will?
Your wisdom shows no bounds. Is that the third step you're referring to about one must claim responsibility? We would all love to know how you progressesed so quickly in your karmic cleansing.
Lemond, I care about your wins and for that matter anyone else's wins, your wisdom has no boundaries and is clearly superior to others, good luck mate and good luck Anna :)
Yep, another 10 for me today, great Karma, another great day on this great site, keep em Rollin and for the record, try logging on standing on one leg while shaking your head really fast, it gets you higher numbers every time but don't tell too many people, keep it small ssshh, Lemond for President!!! Hail The Oh Wise One :)
Seems I've had the negative karma thrown at me, 1 today and same yesterday :-( . All the negative air needs freshening, so I burnt a candle this morning, lol. Good luck all.
@Brookemaree93 Thanks. Thou I was posting due the timing and comic irony. Just some timely examples of how good karma can be unexpectly returned. :)
If wisdom equates to donig way too many competitions there's proabably quite a few lessons learnt. That and observing what goes on in the comping circles. Some of it gets very murky especially voting competitions.
The pitfalls they're a hell of a lot of comps about once start digging about. I could spend the whole day just checking various sources worldwide. Sometimes discover some great off radar competitons. I've cut back doing that this year until complete a more efficient way to manage it.
It's easy to get overwhelmed by the vast number of competitions. This year I've cut right back and basically was only doing a handful of comps and the leader board for most of year. Only in the last couple of months been lot more active with urgency of requiring to replace my PC which is approching unusable. The wins have helped towards it's budget and currently stuck waiting for components to be in stock soon.
There's a few members that have great succes and my i impression they focus on their various fortes. Those usually have lower entries and great prizes. That's something I'd like to work on.
@Try2win I think my New Years resolution is don't mention the leaderboard and daily score . I hope Karma takes that in jest as I mentioned a few days ago my favourite number this year seems to be 9. Had 3 so far this month.
@moreofachance lmao. There's probably a few times I've been superstitious with the daily scores. Like do I spoil a nice day and unwrap it early or wait. It can be nice pick me up ... well at least for one day. It can cruel comp with the slow motion draw over a month, especially when it comes to the last few days and have a chance.
@moreofachance Argh I should of waited until my morning coffee. Well looks like your off and running in the Xmas dash for cash. I've stumbled and in danger of being trampled by the oncoming Xmas hoards. I'll try and hold them off as long as possible. Just keep on running and don't look back.
@Anna2077 Was to prompt you to maybe reflect why it appears you default to the need to projective negative karma. Possibly there're some underlying issues clouding your thoughts. It doesn't excuse what could be considered "trolling" at times.
Maybe the best XMAS gift could be reflecting and obtaining some insights into Karma and use that knowledge to achieve your goals like your dream job.
@Admin, I cashed in some CompBux on the 20th, it still hasn't turned up in my paypal account. I thought it was supposed to only take a couple of business days! How much longer before it is transferred?
Facebook competitions generally don't get them. If only I knew exactly which ones are the result of those phishing emails be great. There are some types I try and avoid, especially the ones involving dozens of yes/no responses.
On that note I should clean out my junk folder. I seem to accumulate a couple hundred each day. The trend lately is bitcoin trader ones and the usual other types.
@heidiho73 Great tips. I find using bookmarks is a good fall back method for keeping track of competitions entered. Notepads I find are ineffective apart from maybe brainstorm creative comps as virtually all comps are online entry.
If stick to using one browser for entering comps and bookmark before hitting the submit then append the closing date in a consistent manner eg "01/09/2017" it helps for checking back and avoiding double entry. i.e. the bookmark will show up when you revisit the page. This has help numerous times. Thou on the odd occassion you might find promoters reusing the same link.
For various social media, daily entry etc I separate into separate folders etc month. The limitations are when a new month rolls over and got comps spanning months it gets a bit cumbersome. Also appending to the start of the book a consistent date in the format above allows for sorting of bookmarks easily.
Most likely what preference you use comes down to the volume and types of comps entered.
I haven't won anything in my life! I don't even have over $50. I get into debt to my parents a lot because of the stuff I buy. (Not always, and I usually just owe them $5-20).
So I'm here to have some money to keep in pocket if I ever get in debt again. Cheers, Toby. ;-)
Totally off the wall topic, but does anyone know of any competitions directed at gay guys - I know there have been competitions for gay trip/holidays in the past, but have not come across any recently. Any tips for any current gay guys comps for trips, holidays or gay friendly stuff is appreciated.
Marriage equality has finally got the vote, 61.6% Yes to the postal vote, which a record 80% of people voted in, GO HOMOSEXUALITY! GO EQUALITY!!! :-|) So Proud!
