Kids love them so that's good. And I must say how impressed I am with Whirlpool cooking, the new machine was delivered to my door in 2 days after winning. Very happy :) Thank you.
I sent a message last Friday and have not had a reply either. Mine was about being (or in this case, not being) awarded the Compbux for participating in the interview.
I'm still waiting, no reply, has not even read all my messages, although I am using my cousins paypal as mine was compromised last year and I will never use it again, mmm, still a good site for the mad comps, patience is the virtue :)
@moreofachance Patience is a virtue. Keeps you out of trouble while things sort themselves out.
I have almost infinite patience. Think cricket umpiring and one match batted by day and half 328 deliveries for 43 runs. So patience with a pinch of stubbornness. Lmao
I think the site has had a server move that wasn't smooth. I got a response on FB. Maybe try there as well.
Finally I'm out of my misery as my PC died today. Long long overdue. So... last months win is going to come in handy. Damn one finger typing on an iPad until can get a new PC.
Won a couple of pounds one regular 'sponsor'. Hmm I need to pick some lucky lotto numbers from lottoland U.K.
@Lemond patience was not needed, I was also paid two days ago, just didn't realise it, as I said, I love this site for the mad comps and the leaderboard and guessing game are a bloody bonus, I've had a good run in 15 months, twice won and 3rd and also a guessing game, Thankyou @alex @admin, happy Dayz r here
@heidiho73 lol yeah will find comps for everyone's forte if look hard and long enough. I can imagine the inflight conservation. 'Hi I'm a bit nervous for my audition. .....
You get some interesting comps from time to time I think one member won a travel comp where can to handcuff themselves to,a case for an extended period could of been days/weeks. I've done where had to keep a hand on a car and have footballs to catch etc etc years ago.
@Smalot11 What car? I don't usually enter car competitions. Which comp was that for? There is a slight off chance with someone with the same name. I've come across that recently.
I won a inflatible ride on toy designed for toddlers which I've gifted. I had to double check that I had entered that comp. Yeah was bookmarked. Argh rarely would I enter such a comp there must of been another prize in the same comp was interested in.
@Smalot11 lol that's was for AFL Grand Final tickets a few years back. Argh lasted for hours then they favoured someone. Ended up with a a cap I've still got. :)
Thought I''ve missed an winning email etc. I still reckon half the luck is finding those winning notifications before it's too late. @toxicgherkin :(
I think will end up buying a PC in the next few weeks. I can't old out too much longer waiting for the end of month draws.
Hello sandi.888, Basically once you join update your profile pic with a photo for 50 points, update your survey details for an additional 50 points. These points stay permanently. Every day that you log in, you get a random number of points between 1 -10. (They will appear on the left hand site on the competitions page). Then play the guessing game each day for an additional 50 points every day. Every competition that you click on will give you one point. If your not interested in entering that comp still click on it for the point and then hit the little not interested button on the right. The competition will disappear off the list. Open the emails - every now and then there are extra ways to earn points. Hope I have'nt missed anything so welcome and good luck with your wins! :)
They reset at the end of the month, if you have enough points to be in the top 50 that month you get a prize listed below. Once you have enough Compbux you can turn them into cash with PayPal. Good luck.
1st Prize: 10,000 CompBux
2nd Prize: 5,000 CompBux
3rd Prize: 2,500 CompBux
4th Prize: 500 CompBux
5th-10th Prize: 100 CompBux
4th-50th Prize: Will gain an extra guess everyday when playing the guessing game for the following month.
You need to have those amount of comp buxs to cash out at various levels. You can also gain extra compbuxs from surveys listed to reach the various levels to cash out. Note for the lower the compbuxs amounts cashed out you loose a bit on the "exchange" rates.
Another cash/voucher which will come in very handy. Back to rattling the tin can for good luck. Didn't notice it for a while. Arrrrrrrr was busy havin' some fun with a comp. I need some more mateys for shark-chum. :)
@gaseja @admin I'm starting to wonder that as well. First time I've attempted the transfer which I did on the 1st. Previously via bank transfer was within a few days. I was messaged that it would be fixed this week a over a week back.
In order not to get on the scam sites, you need to pay attention to the type of site protocol and whether it has a license or documents that confirm its legality. For example, the online casino Wolf Winner is legal and has a license Curacao, you can verify this on their website. Also Wolf Winner Casino https://wolf-winner.com/ offers a lot of games, good bonuses and a lucrative Vip program.
A warning re PuraChoice washing machine competition on Facebook ...
The competition is layered ie there is more than one step, three in fact, and they don't tell you that in the opening step.
1. Like, comment, share the Facebook page 2. You get a private message to say now you have to enter your name and email 3. Then you get another message and email to say now you have to buy a product and upload a photo
If you are happy doing that, all is good.
But I have a dislike for being asked to jump through extra hoops that were not made clear at the beginning enabling them to harvest contact information when you may be disinclined to complete all the tasks.
@Di_D Opps did I accidently hijack @Di_D post. Argh atm the first time in a week can actually see what I'm typing on the PC. Hmm was sure I did my post re compbux in a new post.
Agree don't like when they spring surprises like that. Same goes for when they bury T&C's.
@Lemond thanks, I just noticed that earlier today. It looks like it was announced late as I received the email today as well. Now to win something in an external comp as I haven't won anything since movie tickets in Mar 2016!! I don't enter a lot of comps, maybe 40-60 a month but I would have thought that something will come my way soon.
@spyglass Looks like the site had major maintenance this morning. Hang on you won last month leaderboard there's a win and probably won a leaderboard around last year in May. Cash is king beats most prizes :) if you have enough computer under the mattress should ok to cash out the $50. I'm still trying to reach that level for a 3rd place $25 won a few months back.
@Lemond yes, I was meaning that his site is the only place where I seem to win anything. I've had a good run in the last 12 months, so I'll take that as a win.....but there is nothing wrong with being greedy so a win from another site is long overdue!
@spyglass I know that feeling this year though won a few small prizes this month a $20 Bunnings, $100 Coles and a bottle of cognac which will pick up this weekend.
Sort of ironically that the comps that win are from the comp site and. It from entering the comps.
Damn typo last post mean be compbux under the bed thou do keep my old pc parts under there as well. It's a time for a spring clean.
The only thing I would add for voting requests is an end date so members know how urgent to get votes in etc. Also worthy of attaching the photo in your post to draw attention.
Will vote soon as had a quick look at the T&C's. I've included a rough extract of important points below for members. Looks like your partner can also separately do an entry. Voters can only vote once per entrant, but may vote for as MANY different entry pages.
The Promotion opens 18th September 2017 at 9am and closes 30th November 2017 at midnight AEST. Open To: Australia only, 18+
Main Prize: at the end of the Promotion, the eligible Entry with the most valid Votes will be deemed the winner of the main prize. The Entry with the second highest amount of valid Votes will be deemed the winner of the first runner up prize and the Entry with the third highest amount of valid Votes will be deemed the winner of the second runner up winner.
There is also a voter prize. Voter Prizes: Entrants must complete an entry on the Website by filling in the online form in order to vote for their favourite couple. Each Entry page has an entry form which constitutes a vote (Vote) when successfully completed. An entrant may Vote for each Entry ONCE only, but may Vote for as MANY different Entry pages as they like. Each valid Vote is entered into the draw for the Voter Prize Pool.
Voter Prizes: The Voter Prize recipients will be judged by a board of Thomas representatives, based on the judge's personal opinions as to the Votes they deem most creative, worthy and, where appropriate, aligned to the Thomas brand values.
Voter Prize Pool: Main Voter Prize consists of: – Either a $1,500 diamond pendant or a $1,500 watch from Thomas Jewellers, the winner can choose which to receive, which will be administered in store or by phone / email, valid until 31/7/18 Weekly Voter Prizes consist of: – 10 x $100 vouchers from Thomas Jewellers , which the winners can choose to spend in store or via the online store, valid until 31/7/18
Wow great pirzes lots of luck. If haven't already done so utialize any of the Aussie comping groups and any other Australian social groups. :)
@Npas For the carrot for members to vote and do a 25 words or you less "Why this couple should win The Finest Wedding in the counry". Main Voter Prize consists of: – Either a $1,500 diamond pendant or a $1,500 watch from Thomas Jewellers, Weekly Voter Prizes consist of: – 10 x $100 vouchers from Thomas Jewellers , which the winners can choose to spend in store or via the online store, valid until 31/7/18
How do you check back whether you have win anything? especially on facebook if they just announce your name and expect you to contact them yourself? and I actually don't have any comping friend on facebook :(
Argh my pet hate and a close 2nd sorting through my emails searching if won.
The first option is to keep an eye on FB notifications from competitions entered. Probably best to always to add a comment to a comp post even if not required. I think that might give a notification. It also helps me for the email notifications sent i.e. can separate my email folders according to search terms. Eg "commented on" etc. Lately I'm finding notifications disappearing before I get to follow them up. From there you can go through you own timeline for what posts your commented on etc for checking back.
I find the most reliable way is to send them to your emails then can more easily search for the regular winning terms. It's not foolproof thou might help. Also searching for your name and using the winning terms eg "winner", "congrat" , "win" etc etc on Facebook.
I also bookmark FB competitiion posts with the end date at the start of the label so can sort into order. EG Sept 30, 2017 : 'Comp XYZ'. That way can manually check back and either delete the bookmarks or update the label. most times if get around to it append XXX to the start of the label to identify checked drawn result. Ideally I looking to scrap using bookmarks it has it limitations apart from a mass of bookmark folders to create each month. i.e. you may have other social media you checking back on.
Entering comps is the easy part like you're hinting at, managing to checking back and catching that winning post when finally happens can be a challenge. Joining the Facebook winners group can help to a degree, it depends if someone else in the group has also entered and then posts a winners announcement Generally I don't enter a lot of the ones that happen to be posted and probably pass over 95% of the comps that ones that circulate about. Still manage to enter many 100's per month that interest me. So it depends on where you are sourcing your comp from for the likelyhood a winners post announcement is done in the group. If sourcing them from the Aussie competition sites, like this one a good chance will be posted. The downside every man and his dog has probably also entered.
Comping friends help. If I spot if they have will tag and message them. If you're lucky will find some nice ones to help you. You'll find lots of "voluenteers" for adding to as comping contacts, generally looking for someone to add to their mass tagging for extra entries. It has it's pros and cons having many comping contacts.
Pros. To meet basic FB comp requirements eg Tag X number of friends. Lots of comping contact to mass tag the crap of a tagging comp for bonus entries. Note need to be carefully doing too many in a period or may find FB temporary suspends you from commenting, tagging. Also some comping contacts may become a bit Share referrals based competitions for bonus entries.
Cons. Can end up being overwhelmed with FB notifications especially during the busy XMAS comping season. If manage to find low entry comps it's a domino effect once nice comps come to the attention of the large groups That can also be a pro for finding competitions thou you don't necessarily have to be a contact to know what's circulating about.
Things to least be wary of at ;east and if lucky will find some comping contacts to help you. If relative new to comping having some comping contacts can open up a mass of competitions that don't get around to being listed on sites. Thou you don't necessarily need to join as a friend contact see what's circulating about.
@indriasun Doh Richmond won by tooooooo much. Was right on the money for one comp at half time. :(
I think all I read was tips, god I've definately got footy tipping on the brain atm. lmao.
The one thing searching for your name won't find is when the promoter posts an image or video for winner announcements. If someone has shared it to the group usually they will put in the subject "Congratulations XYZ". If members keep to that standard I find easy to spot in the subject headings for my FB email notifications.
Hey, I've tried to join this Competition Winners Australia, but it's been pending for a few days now. Apparently people already in the group are able to send joining requests out to others, is that true? I really wanna join, haha!
I've won a $100 coles card. Finally the end of my Facebook comp drought since January. Provisionally appears the my stars have aligned with a Steven Bradbury effort for the leader board. Contgrats to the other leader board winners. I thought be extremely close finish. Woot Woot.
Now X fingers for Richmond to win by around 9 points for the footy tipping. Go Tigers!!!!
@Smalot11 @Try2win Thanks. :) Total argree Coles gift cards are very handy and good as cash.
This year it's been a run of small cash wins from this site a few times and another site's exclusive comps twice last month that's adding up nicely.
Hadn't done that much comping in comparision to last year while was distracted to the database/programme the last 6 months +. Kinda made a pact after the XMAS rush of comps needed a better way for at least checking back and doing the daily bonus entries. Why if anything my wins have been from the sites I don't neeed to be constantly checking emails or FB notifications etc.
For now that's on slight hiatus to actually enter a decent amount comps to improve my chances. There's only so many times can get lucky on the leader board etc. Thou the nightmare of checking back on all the Facebook comps is going to be "fun" in the next week. Was lucky that one of my nice comping contacts tagged me when saw that I won. One of the pros of having at least a couple of nice comping contacts :)
If it pours Yellow & Black the drought will be broken. God a drought since 1980 for Richmond fans, now that's a drought!
@Smalot11 :) I don't think much luck with allllllllllllllllll the footy tipping comps I've done over the last week.
Argh I'm footy tipped out must of done about 40+ of them. Bit like doing all the XMAS ones, at least they only go for a few days. You need to on the ball or end up only left with picking enormous margins as most where first to guess closest. If could do that over again would be bit more organised how to locate them.
Damn one was for for $250 cash with only ONE Richmond guess. I was spot on at the half time margin if that counts :( Just had to decide higher or lower then that one guess. Hmmm still can hope they don't claim it in time. "wishful' thinking
So if do a bit of leg work and hunt around you can find the occassional very decent odds off the main comping radar. IMO my impression most of the Aussie compers on FB rarely do any as see the same ones circulating about. Really it's only the first couple times a promoter runs some competitions they are low key after that they become known.
Won $9.33 today from Draftstars free entry comp to add to my run of cash wins. Along with approximatelyr 10,000 winners, virtually everyone that entered that today won. :)
@surferboy83 Thanks Yeah small wins, I'll have to keep rattling that tin can for luck. :)
Should be another $10 tonight from Draftstars from the free entry comp. Appears you require a balance of $20 to cash out easily, x fingers should just be over that now. Its been nice weekend with 4 wins with either coles/cash :)
I've won $500 Tixstar voucher yay! I love this site and have won quite a bit :) Do you think it's ethical to sell the prize? I'm willing to part with it for $300.
What you do with it is your business. The only issues might be the terms and conditions if can sell it easily. You'll have to check with if can transfer it without any issues. Being a voucher highly possible be fine. Tickets for events on the otherhand there might be issues to overcome.
The ethics of selling your prized possessions is something you'll have to grapple with. The biggest issue personally find the hassle of selling if won something can't use. If got higher priorities for other things really need it's a no brainer.
Thanks all, @Lemond thanks for your advice, yeah I find it is not easy to sell things and I'm actually quite afraid of other's judgment when I get it for free but trying to make money out of it. I can see that some people don't think it's acceptable although I believe it's my right to do so, moreover there's some effort involved. I can see that this Tixstar voucher can be given/sold. Let me know if any of you wants to get this $500 voucher for $300. Thanks all. https://www.tixstar.com.au/
@indriasun God I wouldn't worry, at times can be heated debate. When you get to understand the various reasons you can't be too quick to judge. You'll probably find those judging were eyeing off that prize etc :). I wish you could pick and choose what you want to win it's a bit of a lucky dip. Stick your hand in and could be keys to a new car or box of tissues.
Personally I keep (most times) to comps with prizes want to win and lately more focused on cash/grocery vouchers. Occassional some eye candy might lure me off the that path. So overall if win the odds are something really looking for. I pass over like 90% of comps saves wasted time checking back on those.
Reminds me I need to find someone from South Australia or wants to win a holiday 5 nights accomodation without airfares, if it hasn't closed and withdraw my entry. Lasted I checked had few entries. I think if still open be the 2pm i.e. the first bounce of the footy. :)
It's been a bit of a prize drought but today I awoke to find a nice big parcel at my front door - a National Geographic Telescope (good quality). Perfect for my grandson's Birthday.
Thanks! @jennye - good luck with the writing - trick is to keep trying. Sometimes a story/poem that gets nowhere in one competition will win another one (although I always end up tweaking them each time as well)
@Smalot11 Don't tease me. lol Can only dream if in it and always a chance however slim :) Yes it's a nice amount to change lives. In the meanwhile will settle for $50.. Doh the guessing game this week, missed by ''' that much.
@Smalot11 Yeah damn I keep forgetting do the free lotto comps. I tend to do better when got buckleys chance. :)
How's that 1,000 comps going? There must be a pile of comps about to end around friday to sunday. Going to busy checking all the notifications in hope.
Quick update. Day 43. Entered 796 have slipped slightly from the 20 per day. Have won 15 so far with around 345 still to be drawn. No major prizes yet, very happy and grateful for what I have won. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated

A lot of hard work to stick to close to 20 different comp per day. It's exciting knowing I'm entered in so many comps :)
@Smalot11 Congrats on all the wins. Looks like enjoying yourself. :)
Gee 345 still to be drawn, I'll bet most of those will be within the next week. Haven't counted how many got ending ASAP thou expecting notifications to going to "fun" trying to check them all. Good Luck
Yes a definite trend of Mondays, Fridays and the end of the month for competitions endings.
Yep having lots of fun. Half the excitement is thinking about what could be won, also love seeing other people win. It's amazing to see how many millions of dollars of prize are up for offer each month when you really start looking
@Smalot11 Nice to see had some WOL wins. Those can have a bit of fun with. :) Hmm sometimes thou when checking out the winners groups is all the nice comps didn't around to putting in an entry in.
I've got an interview with Rowan Barber, a Competitions.com.au member. In this interview Rowan Barber shares his passion for competitions, tips, a unique system for keeping track and that time he won a trip to New Zealand. Enjoy!
Great interview. It seems to be getting harder and harder to win these days as everyone is doing it. If you think your entry was the best it seems the less likely to win. I've entered thinking that my entry is fantastic but win on the ones that I don't think are very good. I don't know what the judges are thinking or what they are looking for. Most entries like Rowan's are pretty common these days though as most people do/say the same thing.
Same here too - I did the interview and it was put into the blog, but received no points. thought maybe it was just me. Thanks Try2win for bringing it to admins attention.
I think I need to move to sunny Queensland so many competitions to enter up there! Having a very dry patch in NSW...suppose I am a winner with property prices...ha, ha.
@KittyKat65 How long of a dry spell? I haven't won a Facebook comp since early Jan. Damn the curse of winning a candle. Thou have picked up various small cash wins that have added up from various sites. X fingers for the leader board to pay this months internet bill.
Good Luck always happens when you least expect it. :)
@Anna2077 Your turn on the leader will come soon......... Didn't you end up top 10 last month or month before? There's a win. :) All those small wins can add up.
It's very close up the top of the leader board and looks like going to a tight finish and will have to wait until the final siren has sounded. Go the Tigers! Failing that x fingers for the comp draws due at end of the month.
@Lemond oh gosh in almost 3 years I made it to top 5 .. shocker..
When on your birthday month you cannot make it to top 3.. you lose faith...
On your birthday month you are always in the top 3, and now you are there again ... yeah usual suspects are always top 3, others make it my slim chance and I never do.. this month proves it that it will never happen
@Anna2077 My birthday month this year was until then the only time I've probably been in the top 20. The previous year was right down the bottom, even with the bonuses. @FARMERTYSON won that one :).
If I recall last year you missed days and can't expect to win if miss even one. Scrapping the birthday bonus makes it's fairer and keeps members interested beyond once a year. Overall the odss are very decent for the prizes on offer. I saw yesterday 5000 entries for bars of chocolate, I don't like chances for sweet success for that one. If you hang in there and give yourself the best chance completing all the "skill" requirements your luck will eventually change. You're only ever one lucky draw away or witty WOL comp etc from turning things around.
What I do is hedge my bets on another sites with a leader board/exclusive comps. If I scrounged around there are probably other similar member exclusive comps which might have decent odds. Not all would be random some require writing up reviews if that's your forte. That's where my "luck" has only come from lately doing the bread and butter draws. You don't need to do 100's of comps for the same results.
So I've been a member right on 2 years and virtually done every month 99.9% ticking off all the comps and won once and 3rd. That would be roughly right on average. For a year and 1/2 couldn't get under 20th, everytime I got near @toxicgherkin score I would plument my nemises for months. :) Swear the "random" points for that period was baised against us early birds. Thou for BC the maintence for those abnormalities you need to wipe the slate clean and start from that point in time.
Various members have had good runs on the leader board at times. If you look at the top 50 I'm always seeing the usual 40ish suspects each month. What makes it random, you never know when might win and more then likely those wins will come in batches. Thou start to wonder on Facebook when compers win like 3 times in a day how to join the luck band wagon. Hint those compers are likely entering a lot of FB comps or FB tagging entries.
Looks like @moreofachance has had their fair share of luck on the leader board this last year. Need to pray that ends real soon.(Like before the end of this month). lol
Good chance this month come the final siren the scores might be level for a few members. :)
@Lemond This year like last I'm busy but decided to take few minutes out to see if my being here will make a difference and it did not.
Scarping the birthday bonus is not fair as people who are lagging can come up and get a present with the bonus ..
I don't enter competitions for sport... I only enter what I need and want to see/do as money is tight ... just got a call that I missed out on the job I badly needed. As it was. group interview I heard others answers and gave the agency feedback .. she was taken aback .. clearly she received different feedback from the client.
Actually it's the usual 10 who are at the top more often then not
Since I don't enter many competitions and others always have good luck winning and they go for things that they don't need, people like myself miss out.
@Anna2077 Well if some months have heap more birthdays then others then that logic doesn't quite work out. It's highly unlikey ever to evenly distributed. With around 40-50 "active" members has shown some months had maybe 1-2 and others 6+. The higher the bonus the probability of winnning for your birthday month approaches 1/number of numbers. That's where the inequality lies. Inequality is out of fashion lately.
It was a fine balance how high to set the birthday bonus. The lower you make it to reduce the bias to neglible levels, to balance the uneven birthday distribution your point becomes mute. I.e. only maybe effects on average 1 out of the X birthday month members. Then you've got the physcological effect for member participation for 11 months out of the year do you bother visiting the site other then for the guessing game. Add to that the temptation for "new" accounts to appear with "birthdays" just for that month then hibernate for 11 months.
Overall it's up to the site what levers to pull for the leaderboard comp to encourage member participation and balance "fairness". They could drop or reduce the importance of skill components and make more randomly based. Hmm for starters got the guessing game that's already totally random. It appears a good percentage of members aren't that active and somewhere around 200-300+ floating members. You'll find then it's a lot harder to regularly even make the top 40. For now until a major increase of "active" members the leader board has decent odds. The way it is really there's not much holding back a lot more participation, apart from you need to be determined enough to log in daily and do the simple requirements.
Like I said previously due to the random component, members will have runs of luck. Also due to the skill requirements those members more determined to tick off those regularly appear higher on the leader board. It's more likely members giving up too soon and not ticking off daily requirements, once they feel aren't in the running. Potentially missing out on the opportunity of ending up in the top 10 or even the top 3.
After the first few days really I thought this month was going to like last miserable month. It's only due to an exceptional run of luck in week 3 of 57 points over the seven days and now extended to 74 over 9 has kept me in the running. That would definately by a long way be my best run over 2 years. Had a small run when last ended up 3rd thou was more consistent scores over the four weeks. Over 2 years only had a couple of small runs. Most times it's a frustrating seasaw of daily points. (to be expected)
Any member currently within about 10-15 daily random points from the leaders could likely end up being in the top 4. Beyond that will take a huge amount of luck, thou possible if within close to 20 points. It would mean the leaders, pray not me this week, would need a misserable week.
It can be a "cruel" game when it's like watching your footy team getting flogged in the first quater and only the loyal fans left to tough it out. Thou that pain is spread over four weeks. Or can be an exhilarating finish when snatch victory on the final siren.
Looking at the current top 50 leaderboard IMO a good percentage at least 50-75% have been top 3 or won the guessing game at least once. Its only a matter of time at current level of active leader board members. The question is how long.....
@Anna2077 I hear you regarding nice to win some cash etc to meet ends or boost to motivation. You'll find a lot of compers are doing the same and probably one of the top motivational factors. Each comper has there own story to tell why "enjoy" comping. From winning to pay bills, get to sample products wouldn't usually consider buying or win that holiday been dreaming of. Well it's cheaper then buying lotto tickets and better odds. Reminds me I should do the free lotto site comps more often.
Really the ROI for time put in is questionable. That can improve with bit of simple organisation for like using good comping sites with plenty of comps to reduce time finding them, keeping an eye out for your own local comps or reduce the time managing checking back if won. The exceptions might be for those with fortes in certain areas that frequently have high value competitions. There are plenty of creative high value comps out there. You be surprised at the low amount of genuine entries for the prizes on offer. Thou at the high end it tends to bring out the few with those genuine fortes.
Occassional will come across high value random draws with low entries. I saw an Aussie one a couple of weeks back with around 130 entries for $2000. Argh no luck thou I suspect it wasn't really a random draw despite the T&C's. The lack of permit number displayed raises some eyebrows for that one. Could of been more of those "donate" to a local and tax right off.
Other things to consider to help get you by are doing things like market research which can pay good $. Occassional might come across ones that are interested in and close to you. They aren't the survey sites they usually involve participating in a hour or two activity.
@Lemond yeah you are still not getting it.. I understand how competitions work and I don't enter them for sport.. don't need candles and if I want chocolate I buy it.. same as many things that aren't needed in my life.
You joined this site after I did.. you've managed to get to top 3 a number of times .. you are currently placed at #1 and yet it's my birthday month and I'm sitting at 18.. another1 daily score ...
I give up .. no point in playing number game .. no point in checking daily numbers ... just entering few comps that might get me something that I need as money is tight and if not and things finally break then I have to pay.
@Anna2077 Think I want to crawl back into bed. 1 for the daily points and missed the guessing game by 1. :( There's something to cheer you up. Argh!
Well only 2 twice finished up in the top 3 and that only very recently. If lucky enough maybe a 3rd time at the end of the month.
I get it, you think you're owed a win as joined longer. It doesn't matter how long ago you joined if not consisently every month completing virtually all the "skill" requirements. General observation it would appear you've missed doing those at times. If you really want to win you need to maximise your chances EVERY month for when finally get some decent luck.
If you hang in there and tough it out for the bad months never know when your luck may turn. Even if one month starts out bad no reason to chuck in the towel incase it really turns around. Basically what's happened for me this month after an average first few weeks. Still too early to tell where will end up.
The leader board comp is one out of 1000's each month out there. You never know if will strike it lucky. It's just usually not when you need it the most.
@Lemond you don't know what I'm thinking or feeling so don't think that you do.
bohooo you missed the guessing game by 1 yet you've managed to win it previously, did you not?
awww you got 1 point yet you are still at #2 .. my heart breaks for you... you hate not to be winning all the time .. well my life is not consumed by competitions .. I only enter things that I need or want to do since I cannot afford to pay for most things these days
My luck will not turn when it comes to the leader board .. this month proves it, just like every other September since I've been here ... but don't worry that leaves you more chances to win
@lemond my last win was a good one exactly one year ago...I went to the Melbourne cup on a Carnival Cruise was a wonderful trip, but not a thing have I won in 2017 :(
@KittyKat65 Wow nice one. Sounds like would of been an awesome day. You could use that wonderful day as inspiration for other comps to turn your luck around. :)
That's one great thing about competitions you get the chance to experience things you wouldn't usually do or afford. If really lucky win something urgently need.
Well one great win or a whole lot of small ones.... Hmm hard choice depends on the prize, thou I do prefer winning cash or grocery vouchers lately. This year seem to winning small cash wins. I think would of won around $250 cash from a half dozen comps since Januaary so nothing to complain about. Cash is always king and a nice prize however small.
For why in a drought? IMO depends on how many competitions entering and what things specially looking to win etc. As a few compers have pointed out it seems increasingly difficult to win. It really depends where and your looking for finding competitions and what prizes liked to win. On Facebook for example all the Aussie compers are one degree of separation from each other. Mainly linked via a few dozen with major comping contact lists (for the tagging comps or likes etc). They get shared around very quicklly and your chances get greatly diminished. The pros and cons of even slightly attached to those groups.
Sometimes a random explore to find prizes of interest that might be off main comping radar, might help improve your chances. I should get in the habit of checking for more local comps. Or you can concerntrate on a forte for creative entry comps. Ideally if got a forte and also find off the radar comps your chances start looking great. Some compers do exceptional well just focusing on their niche creative competitions.
hi! Am I the only one who didn't 't get September Newsletter? I went back as far as August and there are no bonus points newsletters ... every little bit will help :-)
@admin were they mailed to some the rest of emails will go out or only few were sent out?
From alex. The subject was Today's Best Voucher Comps - Flight Centre, IKEA, Myer Vouchers & more. Usually I just search my emails using the site URL. I didn't post the email address to avoid any spambots
@Anna2077 X fingers on a roll this week after initially getting 3 ones in the first 5 days of the month. Due for a turn around in the daily numbers after a couple of months in purgatory. :)
Hopefully you can find the email. Or maybe message Alex if they can resend ASAP.
@Lemond well I've been getting the best numbers so far this months 1 /2/3 & had a few 5! will double check that email but def nothing like that from Alex in spam .. spam only had usual meeting chicks from Russia for fun... gave up blocking them
Kinda depressing getting low numbers in bfday months .. if I cannot be in the top 3 then ... no hope any other months.. massive 4 points today lol
@Lemond found that email but nothing about monthly bonus points ... clicked on each offer again and still no bonus points.. one had them one day months ago .. since then nada
@Anna2077 lmao. I've actually been cleaning out my junk emails as have been doing a "touch" more comping this month. I haven't done that much over the last few months more of the dread of having to clean up my emails.
Deleted about 1200 just in the junk folder. Thou another 200 appears the next day. Now only about 50,831 to go in the inbox. :(
I tend to spot from this sites emails as that's sent to a less active/spam account that I don't use for entries into competitions.
Could everyone please give the photo of my dog a like? If she wins she'll get a voucher to our local pet store. Sophie has just had a big operation on her leg, so I would love to spoil her with some goodies.
Will add for that comp the details Vote & share your SiQ Member's favourite image below to make the Top 8 and be featured in our calendar. Facebook users can vote once per day through to September 15th 2017.
THE HIGHEST VOTED IMAGE WILL WIN: - Front cover & January feature - Street Ignition Queens prize pack with goodies thanks to our sponsors - $4 per calendar purchased in 2017 will be donated to their pre-nominated Australian charity
@mustang17 It was just the unusual time when the voting day rolled over threw me a bit. 5pm roll over for a day instinctively I'm think USA PST. Comes from dong way to many international comps. I shouild of actually read the T&C's pasted. Aussie charity donation so maybe based on 5pm working day.
You may know can vote once per thou I suspect members may not of realised. Looks like you need all the help can get. Also try some of the aussie comping Facebook groups you might get some support there as well.
If anyone isn't a member would love a few referrals. Lots of member draws, general aussie comps, triva etc. More aussies to give those those determined Canadians a challenge

@sandy55 Sorry been having major PC issues lately which doubles up as the TV and missed the 7 news. I haven't been entering and tend to catch all these TV comps when got the TV going in the background.
Yeah x fingers think sorted out the PC. Bite the bullet tonight and refreshed windows. 3 hours without a crash. Considering I was lucky to get 15 minutes without a bluescreen the last few weeks. :(
For voting requests ect if can put ending dates so know how urgent for getting around to helping out would be great. I suspect it's finished. Hope you went well :) Congrats. Just checked. :)
@Smalot11 Twice the joy :) I had that happen with some nice wnes, candles and some great posters at XMas. I was disappointed when the posters didn't arrive with the rest as was looking forward to them. Well by then I had won enough wine to keep me going for a year. Hic :)
@Smalot11 that was also my first "candle" win thou it came with 6 nice bottles of wine :)
God for XMAS get the glasses ready there will be plenty of comps for wine and bubbly to keep you going all year. Virtually every hamper giveaway will have a couple of bottles.
What's really eluding me is a new PC and washing machine,
