Competition Terms and Conditions
By entering the STA Travel ‘Get onboard. Which squad member are you?’ Quiz, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
1. STANDARD CONDITIONS
1.1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. ELIGIBILITY – WHO CAN ENTER?2.1. Entry is only open to residents of NSW, VIC, SA, QLD, WA and ACT, who are Australian passport holders and are aged between 18 – 35 years. Employees (and their immediate families) of The Promoter (STA Travel Pty Ltd), participating retailers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1. The promotion commences 01 July 2016 at 9am (AEST Australian Eastern Standard Time) and concludes 31 July at 11.59pm (AEST, Australian Eastern Standard Time) (“the Promotional Period”).
3.2. This competition is a game of chance, and winners will be drawn at random from the pool of valid entries using random.org. The judge’s decision is final and no negotiation or correspondence will be entered into.
3.3. To enter, eligible applicants as outlined in Section 2 must:
• Visit the STA Travel Australia website www.statravel.com.au/competitions.htm
• Follow the prompts on the screen and submit and entry
3.4 The Promoter, its agents, affiliates or representatives will not be liable for any lost, late or misdirected entries.
3.5 Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
3.6 Multiple entries are permitted. Entrants in the competition can enter a maximum of once per day during the promotional period.
3.7 The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows multiple entries to be submitted is not allowed, and any entries submitted using any form of automation will be deemed invalid.
4. HOW TO WIN
4.1. Each entrant who has entered the competition over the Promotional Period and fulfils clauses 2 and 3 will be entered into the prize judging.
4.2. The winner will be randomly selected by an STA Travel Marketing Department representative at Level 3, 6 Riverside Quay, Southbank, Victoria, 3006 using random.org.
4.3. 10 draws will be conducted throughout the month of July, one draw for each prize. Drawing of winners will take place at 11am on the following dates:
(i) Monday 04 July 2016 for entries submitted between 01 July 2016 at 9.00am AEST - 03 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(ii) Thursday 07 July 2016 for entries submitted between 04 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 06 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(iii) Monday 11 July 2016 for entries submitted between 07 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 09 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(iv) Wednesday 13 July 2016 for entries submitted between 10 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 12 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(v) Monday 18 July 2016 for entries submitted between 13 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 15 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(vi) Tuesday 19 July 2016 for entries submitted between 16 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 18 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(vii) Friday 22 July 2016 for entries submitted between 19 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST - 21July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(viii) Monday 25 July 2016 for entries submitted between 22 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST – 24 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST
(ix) Thursday 28 July 2016 for entries submitted between 25 July 2016 at 12.00am AEST – 27 July 2016 at 11.59pm AEST

4.4. The winner will be notified in writing by email and/or their provided phone number following the judging (within 24 hours). The promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in circumstances where the telephone number and e‐mail address provided by the entrant are not valid.
4.5. Winner’s name will be published on the STA Travel Twitter social page once we receive confirmation from the winner in writing.
4.6. Multiple entries are permitted. Entrants in the competition can enter a maximum of once per day during the promotional period. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and eligibility of entrants (including an entrant’s identity, passport details, age and place of residence) before issuing a prize and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any ineligible entries, or any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
4.7. The Promoter's decision to disqualify an entry is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries.
4.8. Entrants in the competition can enter once per day during the promotional period. Entrants can only win once during the promotion. If drawn as a winner, all subsequent entries will be deemed invalid.
5. UNCLAIMED PRIZES
5.1. If the prize remains unclaimed by 31 August 2016 the original winner forfeits the prize and will be advised in writing. In this event, the Promoter will award the unclaimed prize to the second drawn entry.
5.2. The winner of the unclaimed prize draw will be contacted in writing by email, and will be published on the STA Travel Twitter social page.
5.3. In the unlikely occurrence the second drawn winner’s notification email is returned as undeliverable and a mobile phone number hasn’t been provided, the Promoter will redraw until a valid winner has been contacted.
6. PRIZE
6.1. There will be ten (10) Major Prize Winners.
6.2. The Major Prize Winner will receive: one seat on a Western Quest Contiki tour. The tour will departs on 22 April from London and ends on 28 April in Barcelona, and winners must be able to travel on this departure date. This trip is non-transferrable, non-refundable and not redeemable for cash. The tour includes the food fund, but excludes me-time optional activities. Flights, visas, pre/post accommodation, meals not included and other items of a personal nature such as spending money are not included with this prize. Winners must be between the ages of 18 – 35 and must have a valid passport at time of travel.
6.3. The Western Quest Contiki tour is valid up to the retail value of $1,160AUD
6.4. The total prize pool is $11,600AUD
6.5. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. There are set departures as outlined in Sub section 6.2 above.
7. LIABLIITY
7.1. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or any other circumstance beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an alternative travel destination to the same value as the original prize or, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
7.2. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability, which cannot be excluded by law. Winners are advised to consult their healthcare professional regarding recommended immunisations and/or health checks prior to travelling and to check for travel warnings and any perceived hazards with appropriate authorities, including www.dfat.gov.au. STA Travel highly recommends Travel Insurance is purchased prior to departure.
7.3. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures. Tax implications may arise from the receipt or use of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
7.4. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering , unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion subject to any written directions under applicable legislation. The Promoter also reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved
7.5. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in this promotion.
8. PRIVACY
8.1. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.
8.2. The Promoter collects contact information about entrants in order to conduct the promotion and where appropriate award prizes and may also use the information to assist the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact entrants in the future with special offers via any medium including email and commercial electronic messages. If you do not provide the information, you cannot participate.
8.3. The Promoter may partner with third parties in order to conduct the Promotion and may use information collected via this Promotion to assist the third party to contact entrants in the future with any special offers via email. The Promoter will not share your personal information without consent.
8.4. Each entrant agrees, that the Promoters or its agents may do the following:
a) transfer personal information confidentially to the Promoters or other organisations that provide services in relation to this promotion;
b) disclose personal information to State and Territory lottery departments and/or;
c) publish the winners’ names as required under applicable law;
8.5. In accepting the Prize, the Winner agrees to participate and co- operate as required in all marketing activities relating to the promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winner grants the Promoters a perpetual and non-exclusive license to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner (and their travelling companions) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

9.2. The laws of Australia apply to this promotion to the exclusion of any other law. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
