When are you selecting the winners?Ten winners will be drawn on March 7th at 1:00 PM EST.
Winners will continue to be drawn, ten at a time, in 24-hour intervals (excluding weekends), until all prizes have been given away.
How will the winners be selected?Randomly, from a cross-section of @dbrand, @MKBHD, and @Mrwhosetheboss followers.
How do we know it's truly random?We use a custom Python script which is specifically programmed for this giveaway. It uses the Twitter Public API to download separate lists of all @dbrand, @MKBHD, and @Mrwhosetheboss followers.
Once the full lists are loaded, the script generates a list of IDs which exist on all three lists. This ensures that the potential winner is following @dbrand, @MKBHD, and @Mrwhosetheboss.
From this pool of unique account IDs, random entries are picked using a randomly generated seed based on the NumPy project. These random picks will be the resulting winners.
For every subsequent winner selection, we run the script again. This triggers the Twitter Public API follower IDs fetch again. The script downloads the newest followers and keeps going until it reaches the followers which were downloaded during the previous run. This saves us from having to download a list of several million followers every time a winner is selected – while also ensuring that everyone is included and has an equal chance of winning for each random draw.
Do winners get to choose what prize they win?No.
How do you announce winners?Once we've established contact via Twitter DM with the winners and confirm their shipping details, we'll post their Twitter handles on this page.
How will the prizes be shipped?Every prize will be shipped via FedEx, with tracking.
If I win, will I need to pay anything to receive the prize (shipping costs, duties, taxes, etc.)?Of course not. Everything will be paid for by dbrand.
If I win, do I need to do anything once I receive the prize?No, but the winners are encouraged to tweet out a photo tagging @dbrand, @MKBHD, and @Mrwhosetheboss to verify that they've received their prize.
If I send you dozens of emails or tweets begging for a prize, will it improve my odds of winnin
