PROMOTIONAL PERIOD:
The competition period starts on October 1, 2014 at 09:00 AEST and ends on October 31, 2014 at 23.59 AEDT (the Competition Period).
HOW TO ENTER:
To enter, participants must:
• go to studiotv.com.au and follow the directions on the website to submit an entry form. Participants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address, email, and phone number as well as an outline of the visual concept and proposed execution (the concept), with a budget breakdown that supports the concept development for the 30 second video piece (the budget should not exceed $5,000 excluding filming costs).
• As long as the Concept follows the STUDIO requirements below, artists should feel otherwise unrestricted in fully exploring the creative potential of the brief:
Creative concepts for STUDIO brand idents and logos must always celebrate the STUDIO brand essence; that the arts and design are an accessible, inspiring and integral part of every day.
When commissioning STUDIO brand idents the integrity of the STUDIO logo letterforms and font (Ziggurat: upper case, kerning at 0) must be retained. Letterforms can be extruded to create 3 dimensional representations as well as just 2 dimensional. The logo will be available to download from the STUDIO website.
The Concept must be based on a final outcome of a 30 second video with the STUDIO logo revealed/completed in the last 10 seconds of the spot. The Concept should include the ‘process’ or ‘reveal’ of how the logo was created and it should be able to be filmed in one location using timelapse techniques to capture the creation.
Submissions must include the use of the STUDIO brand sting soundtrack. This music will be available from the STUDIO website www.studiotv.com.au and no additional audio is permitted.
Entries submitted must be participant’s original work. Use of photography, video, imagery, technique or any other material that a third party owns the copyright to will result in disqualification. SBS reserves the right to request additional material demonstrating the participant’s ownership of their Concept.
All entries must meet a G classification rating.
PRIZES
MINOR PRIZE (3)
Each of the three Finalists will receive a minor prize of $1,000 (the Minor Prize).
MAJOR PRIZE (1)
In addition to the Minor Prize, the Major Prize winner will receive $10,000, and the Major Prize winner will be assisted by STUDIO in a mentorship program, that will be subject to the Major Prize winner entering into a separate Memorandum of Understanding with SBS (the Major Prize).
