Terms and Conditions: Where to Next?The National Geographic Journeys “Where to Next?” Social Media Contest (hereinafter, the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by G Adventures Inc. (hereinafter “G Adventures”), using: Facebook, found at www.facebook.com), Twitter, found at www.twitter.com, and other Social Networking sites and web locations (together and collectively, the “SNS”). These Terms & Conditions apply to and are fully binding upon any party submitting an entry to the Contest (hereinafter “Participants”, “you”). Your participation in the Contest shall signify your assent to and acceptance of these terms.
The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, the SNS. By entering the Contest, all Participants agree to release the SNS completely from all liability or responsibility arising from the Contest.
This Contest shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada and all Participants hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada for any and all disputes hereunder. Any questions or concerns regarding G Contest may be directed to:

The Contest is free to enter. No purchase is necessary for participation in the Contest. A purchase or payment of any kind to G Adventures, or any Contest partners, or their subsidiaries and affiliates will not impact any Participant’s chances of success at any stage of the Contest. Internet access, as well as a valid SNS account registered using a valid e-mail address are required for participation. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?All individuals, except residents of Quebec, who are of the legal age of majority in their country of residence (which age shall not be less than 18) at the time of entry may submit entries to the Contest in compliance with these Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are legally eligible to enter the Contest under any laws applicable to you in your jurisdiction of residence or otherwise.
The Contest is void in Quebec and where otherwise prohibited by applicable federal, state, provincial or local laws, rules or regulations. The following individuals may not enter the Contest: employees, officers and directors of G Adventures, its parent, affiliated and related companies, employees of Contest partners and their immediate families (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they live) and members of any or households (whether or not related) of any such parties, and members of any or households (whether or not related) of any excluded individuals.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
In order to enter the Contest, you must have a valid SNS account on one of the Contest platforms. When you register for such account, you agree to abide by the applicable terms and conditions of that particular SNS in your use of the SNS website or platform, and in your participation in the Contest and your communications with G Adventures. PLEASE READ AND REVIEW THE APPLICABLE SNS TERMS OF SERVICE PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST. You are responsible for all activity conducted through or under the name of your SNS account. Any entry found to be in violation of applicable terms of service and/or applicable laws will be disqualified. G Adventures may also disqualify the offending Participant from any further participation in the Contest.
Beginning April 17th, 2017 and ending May 16th, 2017 (the “Contest Period”), Participants may submit entries to the Contest. In the alternative, Participants may mail in their hand-written entries for receipt prior to the end of the Contest Period to G Adventures at the address above. Entries submitted or partially submitted by any other means shall not be valid.
All entries must be submitted in the name of an individual person. Each unique SNS account may only be entered once for consideration in the Contest. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void. G Adventures is not responsible for misdirected, incomplete, lost, late, illegible, undelivered, inaccurate or delayed entries, or for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or other errors or problems which may limit or affect a person’s ability to access or participate in the Contest, whether human, mechanical, typographical, printing, electronic, network or otherwise, relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of entries, or the announcement of the prizes.
Winners will be notified within ten (10) days of the close of the Contest Period. Winners will be contacted through the email address attached to the SNS account used to submit their entry. If there is a dispute as to the identity of a Participant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the email address attached to the SNS account used to submit the entry. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the email address is assigned by an internet service provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
If you do not respond to the email notification of your selection within five (5) days, or you are unwilling, unable, or unavailable to claim your prize under the conditions specified by G Adventures, you shall be deemed to have forfeited your entry into the Contest and any right you may have had to any prize or compensation. In this instance, the next-highest ranking entry will be selected as the new winner as if the first winner had never been so chosen. All decisions are final and binding on all Participants. The winner must meet all eligibility requirements, including the execution and return of all necessary releases and documents required by G Adventures prior to being granted any prize hereunder.
PRIZES
Tour: Two (2) free places on guaranteed departures of any National Geographic Journeys trip (up to the value of USD $4000 per person) departing before December 31, 2017 and booked before July 31, 2017 AT 00:00 EST, provided that a minimum of four paying passengers are confirmed on such departure (to be confirmed with G Adventures by the Winner at time of booking). Winner must be 18 or older to claim the prize. Prize applies to the listed itinerary only, & excludes optional or additional services such as any airfare not expressly included in the itinerary, transfers, pre/post-tour accommodation, 'My Own Room', insurance, amendments, & all incidentals, meals, gratuities, taxes, fees, levies, & transportation not expressly included in the itinerary. This prize includes 1 flight per person up to the value of USD $1500 per person including all taxes and fees levied by the airline on the tickets on the route. Prize: i) is subject to availability, ii) is valid on new bookings only, iii) may not be combined with any other offer or discount, iv) has no cash value, v) is not transferrable, vi) is not eligible for “Lifetime Deposit” nor “Guaranteed Departure”, and vii) cannot be exchanged by the Winner. Winner must contact G Adventures directly by phone and/or e-mail by May 31, 2017, to book their prize trip, and G Adventures must agree to the chosen departure dates and the prize may be substituted for a prize of comparable value by G Adventures’ in its’ sole discretion. Passport, visa, and vaccination procurement and costs are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize is subject to the Winner agreeing to G Adventures’ booking terms and conditions, found here: gadventures.com/terms-conditions-policies/. Please note that mandatory medical insurance, at the cost of the Winner, is required for participation, in an amount no less than USD$200,000 and covering medical, evacuation, and repatriation while travelling.
The winner and his/her guest are responsible for all incidentals, meals, gratuities, transportation throughout the duration of the trip that is not expressly included in the cost of the itinerary, the cost of travel to an airport, the cost of obtaining a passport or visa or other photo identification, or any additional activities the Participant elects to engage in outside of what is provided by G Adventures as part of the standard tour itinerary.
Airfare: The winner will receive, as part of the prize, round trip economy ticket(s) from the airport closest to the Winner’s place of residence, including applicable taxes and surcharges on the prize airfare. The airfare component of the prize has a MAXIMUM value of USD $1500 per person, which may vary based on airline fluctuations and the Winner’s place of residence. Any airfare or transportation costs in excess of the $1500 per person, including transportation to airport, are the responsibility of the Winner and his/her guest.
With respect to the Airfare component of the prize:
Travel blackout periods may apply.
Space is subject to availability at time of booking.
Once your ticket has been issued, the origin and destination can’t be changed. However, a change to the flight time, and/or travel date is permitted. A change fee per ticket may apply.
Ticket is not transferable, not refundable and not redeemable for cash.
Frequent flyer mileage accumulation is not permitted.
The use of e-upgrade certificates is not permitted.
Stopovers are not permitted.
The airfare ticket(s) is for one-time use only, and only for the winner’s personal use. It may not be distributed or sold, or otherwise used for commercial or personal gain, other than for the purpose for which it is intended. G Adventures reserves the right to modify the airfare component of the prize at their discretion. Any violation of these conditions may be subject to cancellation of the airfare component of the prize, of any booking made using the airfare component of the prize, and/or to any legal or other recourse available for the recovery of damages suffered or costs, expenses or loss incurred as a result of such prohibited use.
All Participants who accept a prize acknowledge and agree that they are responsible to ensure their eligibility to travel internationally, if applicable, their proper and lawful eligibility to enter the country or region where the prize trip will be held, and to re-enter their country of resident, and represent and warrant to G Adventures that they posses or are able to procure a valid passport for the duration of the trip, if necessary, according to current international travel law. Passport and visa procurements will be the sole responsibility and for the sole account of the winning Participants and their guests. If a Participant is unable to attend their prize Tour due to passport, entry or other legal or regulatory restrictions, they shall be deemed to have forfeited their entry into the competition and G Adventures shall not be liable for any damages resulting from such inability to attend. The winner and their guest are responsible for any surcharges or service charges if applicable.
The G Adventures Booking Terms and Conditions, which can be found on the G Adventures website, (www.gadventures.com/terms-conditions-policies/. ) will apply to the Tour and the Winner and their guest agree by accepting the prize Tour that they will be bound by such Terms and Conditions.
Once the trip is confirmed, the winner may not change the departure date. The winner and guest must travel on the same Tour itinerary on the same dates. G Adventures reserves the right to approve any travel dates. G Adventures is not responsible for any travel related delays or cancellations.
Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied by G Adventures. The winner is responsible for the reporting and payment of all taxes (if any) as well as any other costs and expenses associated with acceptance and use of prize not specified herein as being awarded.
G Adventures (and any Contest partners) expressly disclaim any responsibility and Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless G Adventures and any Contest partners from and against any and all claims, actions, demands and/or liability for injury, damage or loss whatsoever relating to or arising in connection with participation in this Contest (regardless of the cause of such injury, damage or loss) and/or the delivery and/or subsequent use or misuse of any of the prizes awarded.
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
G Adventures reserve the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest at any time.
By entering the Contest, Participants grant G Adventures and their designees the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their names, SNS handles, and cities of residences, voices, pictures and likenesses, without compensation, notification or approval, for the purpose of advertising and publicizing the goods and services of G Adventures and all matters related to the Contest, in any manner or medium, now or hereafter known, throughout the world in perpetuity. The winners’ travel companions must execute and return a liability/publicity release prior to being issued vouchers for any prize. The winners and guests may each be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, tax acknowledgment form and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release and return within five (5) business days of issuance of notification. Noncompliance within this time period or failure of potential winner to respond after three (3) notification attempts may result in disqualification and, at G Adventures’ discretion, an alternate winner may be selected. If: (i) any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, (ii) the potential Winner declines his or her prize, (iii) the potential Winner is unable to travel on dates approved by G Adventures or (iv) the potential Winner fails to comply with any of the Terms and Conditions as outlined herein, such potential Winner will be disqualified and an alternate Winner will be selected at G Adventures’ sole discretion. The prize providers expressly disclaim any responsibility and entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the prize providers from and against any and all claims, actions, demands and/or liability for injury, damage or loss whatsoever relating to or arising in connection with participation in this Contest (regardless of the cause of such injury, damage or loss) and/or the delivery and/or subsequent use or misuse of any of the prizes awarded (including any travel or activity related thereto).
Limitation of liability
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL G ADVENTURES OR ITS CONTEST AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR OTHER DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR OTHER DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE CONTEST, THE PRIZES, USE OF ANY OF THE SNS OR ENTRY SUBMISSION, ANY BUGS, VIRUSES, TROJAN HORSES, OR ANY OTHER FILES OR DATA THAT MAY BE HARMFUL TO COMPUTER OR COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT OR DATA THAT MAY HAVE BEEN TRANSMITTED TO OR THROUGH THE SNS. THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENSION PERMITTED BY LAW.
Personal Information & Privacy
By participating in Contest, you expressly consent to voluntarily providing all of the personal information contained in your entry, available through your SNS account to G Adventures, or any other information provided to G Adventures in connection with the Contest (your “Personal Information”) to G Adventures for the purposes of operating and administering the Contest, including but not limited to contacting you in the future with information regarding G Adventures and their Contest affiliates, and their activities. G Adventures will be collecting personal data about Participants, in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which can be found here: (http://www.gadventures.com/terms-conditions-policies/privacy/). By participating in the Contest, you hereby agree to G Adventures’ collection and usage of your personal information for the purposes of the Contest in accordance with the Privacy Policy, and the terms and conditions contained herein with respect to your personal information, and you acknowledge that you have read and accepted G Adventures’ Privacy Policy.
