Conditions of entry:
Competition is open to Australian residents over the age of 18 only.
The prize is not exchangeable for cash, non-refundable, non-transferable, non-endorsable, non-reroutable and is subject to availability.
Prize:
The Prize includes two return United Airlines economy-class flights from Sydney to Los Angeles, a five-night stay in a Park View Studio at The Westin Anaheim Resort and Complimentary parking and Wi-Fi at The Westin Anaheim Resort.
The Prize is valued at AUD$10,000 as at 9 February 2022.
The Prize does not include airline taxes or surcharges. The winner will be required to pay these.
Further exclusions are anything not listed above including pre/post accommodation, airport transfers and travel insurance. We strongly recommend the winner obtain travel insurance.
How to Enter
To enter this Competition, entrants must complete the Vacations & Travel 2022 Reader Survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/vt-2022-reader-survey) and answer the question “Tell us in 25 words or what your best travel tip is.” (“Competition Question”).
Only one entry will be permitted per person and entries must be submitted providing the entrant’s personal email address registered against their full name during the Promotion Period. Creating multiple email accounts will be considered a breach of these terms and conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to discount any inappropriate or offensive entries and to disqualify any entries if the Promoter, at its sole discretion, believes that there has been an attempt to manipulate or tamper with the operation of the Competition. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the Prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
Promotion Period
The competition ends 11:59pm Sunday 22 May 2022 and entries will be valid if submitted before this time. (“Promotion Period”). Valid entries by eligible entrants will be accepted only during the Promotion Period.
Entries received after this time will not be accepted. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission by the entrant. Records of the Promoter are final and conclusive as to the time of receipt.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind and has no responsibility for lost, delayed or misdirected entries.
How winners will be selected and notified
One (1) winner will be selected, from all valid entries. The Competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each valid entry will be individually judged based on the originality and creativity of their answer to the Competition Question.
The winner will be notified via the email address submitted at the time of entry into the Competition, providing the winners with instructions as to how to collect their Prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 7 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
The Winner’s name will be published in the Vacations & Travel enewsletter.
In the event the prize is unclaimed after seven days, a redraw will take place.
If the winner chooses not to take the Prize (or is unable to), or does not take or claim the Prize by the time specified by the Promoter, they forfeit the Prize and the Promoter is not obliged to substitute the Prize or provide a cash alternative.
The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend this Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
Dispute Resolution
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify an entrant or entries in the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions. Disputes about the conduct of this Competition or the claiming of the Prize shall be resolved by contacting the Promoter at production@signaturemedia.com.au who will review any disputes and respond within 10 days. In the event that there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Competition, the decision of the Promoter is final and binding on each entrant and no further correspondence will be entered into.

As part of the Competition, the Promoter will collect entrants’ personal information. If the entrant does not provide their personal information as requested, they may be ineligible to enter or claim the Prize in the Competition. Submission of an entry is deemed to be consent by the entrant to the Promoter collecting their personal information for the purpose of conducting the Competition, Prize fulfilment and receiving the Promoter’s enewsletter and marketing communications.
The Promoter will only collect, use and disclose the entrant’s personal information obtained through this Competition as far as is reasonably required to conduct this Competition and for Prize fulfilment. The information that the entrant supplies to the Promoter will be held and processed in compliance with the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth) and other applicable state and territory privacy laws. Limitation of Liability
The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for any infringement of any third party intellectual property rights caused by entrants entering this Competition.
If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, power or technical failure, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter, or the Prize Provider, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify the Prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.
The Promoter and the Prize Provider will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence or wilful misconduct) in connection with this Competition or accepting, taking part in or using the Prize (or recommendation), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
Any guarantee or warranty given in relation to the Prize is in addition to any relevant statutory guarantees and warranties and nothing in these terms and conditions restricts, excludes or modifies or purports to restrict, exclude or modify any statutory consumer rights under any applicable law including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales and each of the relevant State authorities.
No payments will be made for any costs associated with claiming the prize.
All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on the date stated.
No compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
The Prize must be taken as offered, is subject to availability and is non-refundable, non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash or any other goods or services.The prize cannot be resold.The Prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of the Prize.
If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations. The Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.
The Promoter, its related bodies corporate and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents (Promotion Parties) will not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs or personal injuries arising out of this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, including but not limited to any breach of these terms and conditions, contract or tort (including negligence) and any other common law, equitable or statutory remedy (Damages) whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential Damages, including Damages that cannot reasonably be considered to arise naturally and in the ordinary course of things, even if those Damages were in the contemplation of the Promotion Parties: a) for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the supply of goods or services which are supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business. To remove doubt: third party goods or services, which other than in connection with this promotion, are in the normal course of business supplied by a third party unrelated to the Promotion Parties, are not supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business; and the Promoter’s Conditions of Carriage and general booking conditions (and any exclusions contained therein) apply despite any statement to the contrary in these terms and conditions; or b) to the extent it is not permissible at law to limit or exclude liability in the manner contemplated in that clause (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).

Receipt of a prize may have Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) implications.To the extent that there is any FBT liability, this will be paid for by the employer of the recipient.The grossed-up value of a prize and any other Fringe Benefits the recipient receives during the course of the FBT year may be reported on the recipient’s annual PAYG Payment Summary as required by taxation law.
