You’ve been telling yourself that you need to buy yourself a new telly, but why buy one when you can try and win one? TCL has given us one 50 inch TV to give away to a lucky individual. Will it be you?
Ahead of the race that stops the nation — Melbourne Cup on November 3 — TCL has given GadgetGuy one 50 inch 4K TV to give away.
Specially, it’s the U50E5800FS, pictured here with a few of those horses you might be watching on race day.
You won’t be winning a horse (or even a bet on a horse), but you can win TCL’s 50 inch 4K TV, which features HDMI 2.0, meaning it will support the Ultra HD Blu-ray players when they eventually arrive. There are also four USB ports here, one of which is compatible with the high-speed USB 3.0 technology, which means you’ll be able to store 4K movies on a high-speed drive and watch them in 4K resolution on the TV.

Inside the TV, there’s also a quad-core processor and graphics chip with Google’s Android TV built-in, giving you some smarts and apps out of the box, complete with WiFi built into the TV to let the telly get online in a jiffy.
And of course, there’s a 4K 3840×2160 resolution, which means a higher quality picture all-round, with a degree of upscaling thrown inside to bring all of that high definition content you have floating around up to the Ultra HD quality it needs to be working at.
You probably noticed that we mentioned Melbourne Cup earlier, and that’s because TCL is also giving away a Melbourne Cup experience at its website, offering a trip for two with entry over at its page, which you can find here.
Here at GadgetGuy, we’re going to miss the deadline for sending out this TV to the winner by Melbourne Cup time, so instead we’re going to draw the winner on the day of Melbourne Cup, so even if you lose at the races, you might still turn out to be a winner that day with a GadgetGuy competition.
To go in the draw, you just need to tell us in 50 words or less:
If you owned a horse entered in the Melbourne Cup, what would you call it and why?
Our horse enthusiast judges will work out which is the best and give that entrant a 50 inch TV. It’s that easy.
