THERE is at least one thing passengers on a Carnival Cruise ship can be sure of: they’ll never go hungry.
I had never been on a cruise but the offer of a weekend away with my better half, without children, washing or cooking, was too good to pass up. Bon voyage, domesticity.

We boarded the Carnival Spirit in Brisbane on its return to Sydney from Singapore, where it has recently had a $44 million makeover.
The upgrade included seven new bars and restaurants, so passengers can choose from 25 places to dine and drink. Whatever you’re in the mood for, whether it’s fresh sushi, fine dining or pizza and ice-cream, there is an option to suit.
One of the popular new and exclusive additions to Carnival Spirit is Guy’s Burger Joint, created by Californian celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
