These are the terms and conditions for the Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo competition. View further information about the March edition of Living in Brisbane.
- Information on how to enter the competition forms part of the competition conditions.
- Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these competition conditions.
- Prizes:There are fifteen (15) double passes (30 tickets in total) for the Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo available to give away. Each pass is valid for one (1) single transaction which will include entry for two (2) people. Each pass must be redeemed before it expires on 17 March 2018.
- The pass is issued for entry to the Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo at Doomben Racecourse, Ascot, on either 16 or 17 March 2018. The prize winners will be contacted by Brisbane City Council, which will provide prize winners’ details to the event organisers. Prize winners will be required to collect their entry pass from a nominated point at the expo. This pass is not for resale.
- The prize is not exchangeable or transferable, unless deemed so by the prize provider, and cannot be redeemed for cash. If the full amount of the pass is not redeemed, the unused balance will be forfeited. Any additional expenses incurred by the prize winners, other than those outlined in these competition conditions, are the responsibility of the prize winners. Prizes are themselves subject to the specific terms and conditions of the prize providers.
- The prizes must be redeemed by the prize winner unless the prize winner is under 18 years of age, in which case the prize winner’s parent or guardian is required to redeem the prize on the prize winner’s behalf.
- The competition period: The Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo competition will open on Friday 2 March 2018 and closes at 12 noon on Tuesday 13 March 2018.
- How to enter: Entrants must complete and submit the entry form online. Only one entry per person. If a person enters the competition more than once all subsequent entries will be deemed invalid.
- Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
- fully and legibly complete all the details on the official entry form;
- be a resident of the City of Brisbane and if requested, able to provide evidence of such residency;
- not be an employee or contracted staff of Brisbane City Council; and
- be over the age of 18 or have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter the competition.
- Competition Draw: Winners will be randomly drawn by a Council Officer on Tuesday 13 March 2018. Winners of the prize/s will be the first eligible entries randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Winner Notification: Winners will be notified by email or phone by a Council Officer.
- Re-Draw: If the winner does not claim the prize or cannot be contacted by email or phone by Wednesday 14 March 2018, the Promoter will redraw the prize until a contactable winner has been located and the prize is claimed.
- No Liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss which includes but is not limited to loss of actual or anticipated profit, loss of goodwill, loss of reputation, loss of opportunity, loss of savings and/or loss of contract) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
- Important – Privacy Consent: By entering into the competition, the entrant acknowledges and consents to their personal information being collected and stored on the Promoter’s database for the purpose of this competition and for the Promoter’s internal administrative purposes.
- Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
- In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
- Council reserves the right to modify these competition conditions at any time and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants.
