Ekka 2018 family pass competition - Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions relate to the Ekka 2018 family pass competition.
The Promoter of the competition is Brisbane City Council ABN 72 002 765 795 acting through Corporate Communication branch whose principal offices are at Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane.
Competition entry is deemed acceptance of these competition conditions.
Prizes: There are two (2) Ekka family passes to give away - each pass valid for one single entry for two (2) adults and two (2) children. (‘Ekka Ticket’)
The Ekka Ticket is issued for use at the Ekka from Friday 10 August 2018 to Sunday 19 August 2018 (‘Show Period’). This Ekka Ticket allows single (1) entry for the holders (two adult persons and two children being 5 – 14 years of age at time of entry) of this Ticket during the Show Period. All holders of the Ekka Ticket must enter the Ekka gate at the same time in order to use this Ticket. The Ekka Ticket is not for resale. Unless otherwise set out in the terms and conditions at https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/ekka-2018-family-pass-competition-terms-conditions, the RNA is not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged Ekka Ticket.
The prizes are not exchangeable or transferable, unless deemed so by the prize provider, and cannot be redeemed for cash. If the full amount of the voucher is not redeemed, the unused balance will be forfeited. Any additional expenses incurred by the prize winner, other than those outlined in these competition conditions, are the responsibility of the prize winner. Prizes are themselves subject to the specific terms and conditions of the prize providers.
The prizes must be redeemed by the prize winner unless the prize winner is under 18 years of age, in which case the prize winner’s parent or guardian must redeem the prize on the prize winner’s behalf.
The competition period: The competition opens at 10am on Monday 9 July 2018 and closes at 12 noon on Monday 16 July 2018.
How to enter: Entrants must complete the entry form at brisbane.qld.gov.au/whats-on/ekka-2018. Only one entry per person. If a person enters the competition more than once all subsequent entries will be deemed invalid.
Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
fully and legibly complete all the details on the official entry form;
be a resident of the City of Brisbane and if requested able to provide evidence of such residency;
not be an employee or contracted staff of Council or the Promoter; and
be over the age of 18 or have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter the competition.
Competition Draw: Winners will be randomly drawn by a Council Officer on Tuesday 17 July 2018. Winners of the prize/s will be the first two eligible entries randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winner Notification: Winners will be notified by email or phone by a Brisbane City Council Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 17 July 2018.
Re-Draw: If the winner does not claim the prize or cannot be contacted by email or phone by 20 July 2018, the Promoter will redraw the prizewinner until a contactable winner has been located and the prize is claimed.
No Liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss which includes but not limited to loss of actual or anticipated profit, loss of goodwill, loss of reputation, loss of opportunity, loss of savings and/or loss of contract) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
Important – Copyright and Privacy Consent:
By entering into the competition, the entrant acknowledges that their personal information shall only be collected and stored by the Promoter for the purpose of this competition.
Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to modify these competition conditions at any time and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants.
