For most vineyard owners/winemakers, running their winery and a cellar door is usually enough to keep them out of mischief but not so Tom and and Georgie Ward, the highly active owners of Swinging Bridge Wines.
Not content with expanding their range to include new varieties and wines from nearby Orange, they've now opened a new cellar door at the stables of the historic Union Bank Building in the heart of Orange and opened up the Union Bank Wine Bar.
To celebrate their move to the Union Bank Building and the Ward's hard work, we have four mixed half cases of their delightful shiraz and chardonnay to be won!

Swinging Bridge was first planted with chardonnay and shiraz in 1995 and first vintage came in 1997. Since then vines of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, bush vine grenache and mouverdre have been added to the range as have cool climate wines from Orange in the form of pinot noir, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay.
It's now one of the region's leading vineyards enjoying success at regional and national wine shows.
(In case you're wondering where the bridge comes in, the Estate was named after the suspension footbridge that lays at the foot of the vineyard. The original bridge was built in 1928 and used by locals as a diving platform until it was washed away by floodwaters in 1934. In 1938 a wooden suspension bridge was built which in turn was replaced in 1998. At times it's one of the only ways over the floodwaters of the Belubula River!)
Swinging Bridge's cellar door has now opened in historic stables in one of the region's oldest buildings, the Union Bank Building in the heart of Orange. It's a beautiful old building with a rich and diverse history which has been further developed into the Union Bank Wine Bar offering delicious, modern Australian, bistro style meals and tasting plates to whet your appetite for the local produce.
And of course, local names are very well represented on the winelist along with others from around the country and beyond.
A visit to the heart of Orange could see you sipping on Swinging Bridge wines, tasting some local goodies and relaxing in the beautiful courtyard, soaking up the history around you ...
But, if you can't quite make it to the region just yet, there's still a chance you could be doing the sipping bit mentioned above - enter below and you could win one of four mixed half cases of Swinging Bridge Wines!
