Melbourne here, and bracing for another hot one. @shtooff, I feel for SA at the moment. Unbearable weather. Thankfully tempered a bit by the time it reaches VIC. Hydrate!!!
SA here also. Yeh I think we got to 42 yesterday, probably the same today. No relief until Sunday. I personally think there should be a ban on hot weather!!
If you have already won anything, the answer is YES, you should enter again. A previous victory does not guarantee future success. Indeed, there are several instances of individuals receiving multiple prizes from the same organisation. In fact, some businesses go so far as to reward consistent achievers with special privileges or incentives. For example, Wild Card Casino https://wildcardcitylogin.com/ has a VIP club whereby devoted customers get exclusive benefits like cash back and free spins. You can never tell when your luck may change, so keep trying your luck by entering freebies and competitions from the same business.
Since it has been operating for more than ten years, Extra Vegas Casino is a seasoned participant in the online gambling market. I haven't personally won twice from the same company, but I've heard stories of it happening! Persistence can pay off. If you're interested in more than just competitions, you might want to explore online casino games. https://casinohex.jp/online-casinos/wonder-casino-withdrawal/ , for instance, offers a seamless withdrawal process that ensures you get your winnings quickly and without hassle. Good luck!
Sorry for the whinge, but fair dinkum how are these "random" daily points done, 6 days in and I have 15 points in total. Made up from 3 x1, 1 x2, 1x3, 1x7. Last month was the same and I was always at least 30 points behind the leaders.
@purplesp8y, I've certainly experienced that along the way, especially so last month, after my NYE birthday points got me over the line for the December competition. Come 1st January, and points were meagre, from that point on, generally. Somehow I still managed to list amongst the Top 20 by month's end, so there's hope! I'm hopeful it's just the random allocation of points, and you seem to be having a bad run. I'd hate to think it was anything other than that, though I have noticed (in the past) newcomers tend to score 'well' on the daily points tally....CHAOS reigns...? ;)
I've been a member of competitions au for years now and have won my fair share of competitions, now its my time to give back. I've launched my own kids accessories brand and am running a competition on Facebook. If you could all support me and share the competition within your circle as well as enter it yourself I would be very grateful. The brand is itty bitty accessories. The link can be found on this website but just incase I have posted the link below:
Greetings, friends! https://aiundresser.ai/ has become an indispensable tool for creating nude images with unrivalled quality. I decided to use the Pro tariff and was impressed with the ability to receive up to 80 requests without queuing, as well as additional settings for photos. The realism of the images is simply amazing - every nuance, every detail looks very natural. The service also provides a high level of privacy and security, which is an important aspect. I recommend this service to anyone who wants to get high-quality nude images quickly and safely.
Hey guys January seems to be a slow start to the comping year for most. Here is to a solid year of comping!! After 20 months of been away im back here in Australia for good!
Look forward to reading about all your amazing wins!
@IWANTTOWINBIG Just import your pic into a program like paint. It has options to rotate your pictures 180 degrees. Then save to a new file and upload. Or just right click and save your pic I posted the right way up.
@shtooff, I received Season 2 yesterday, without corresponding to supplier or promoter (Nerdalicious). Double win! Yay. Couch reserved for some viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
@toxicgherkin I'm very excited to have both seasons... looking forward to spending the next week on the couch... oh wait... that's right... kids...
... i think it will take me a good year or so to be able to watch it all! lol
@Comp_chick Olga is the contact person from a Nerdalicious comp we both won but didn't get the prize for and then got the wrong prize. Now we have both prizes :)
Does anyone with a rural address ever win anything? I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that capital city addresses seem to find the most favour? Be interesting to know.
@Donald4564, yes I've seen many people in rural areas win especially in national and state comps. From what I've seen small businesses, local businesses and shopping centres tend to give prizes away locally unless they're trying to market an online ordering business in some way. There are exceptions though which is why I like to apply the "80/20" rule to anything to do with comping.... Lol :)
Yes rural residents do win. It probably seems like capital cities win most times, and they probably do as that's where the highest population of people reside.
I LOL at "get the eye roll way too many times." I had a friend say that I win too much stuff. I only enter comps for things that I will use so not sure what she was talking about.
The checkout operator stares at you a little strangely when you say you want separate receipts for 15 packets of gummy bears..... Your handbag is full of paper, mountains of it, new and old receipts and half written 25wol answers that came to you while waiting in the queue (see above)
I'm getting really sick of the postie/courier throwing small parcels at my door because they're too lazy to walk to my door. Anyone else ever complain about this and if you did, did you actually get anywhere?
Never had this happen, but I would complain about it if it did. I would keep going until I was satisfied with the outcome, You have paid (presumably) or someone has, for a service. You have every right to get what has been paid for to your satisfaction
I have the most awesome AusPost contractor. I know him by name. Always polite. Happy to have a quick chat. When I'm not home he delivers my parcels behind my pool fence just behind a wall. Now that's service!
Yes, I have won several prizes from them, year or so ago now, you get a winning email. I'm pretty sure you can check their website for the winners. They seem to have changed some of their rules and now for some of the comps you need to be a Foxtel subscriber, so rules me out.
@shtooff You aren't going to believe this but I actually won something this week. I first received an email from Lifestyle & then from the Supplier of Prize. So don't give up. It has taken me about 12mths to win something.
@Trevsta, we all have your back. We may be separated by distance, and by certain familiarity but you're one of ours', and I, for one, wouldn't have it any other way. Love you, mate. Here for you. Now, get a move on, and WIN! :)
Hi All, We are considering opening up "add a competition" to our members with the opportunity to earn CompBux for approved competitions. Would there be any volunteers who would like to be the first testers?
@admin, I'd put my hat into the ring. Do you have an idea yet how CompBux allocation and redemption might work? I'm sure the comping community here would like to know more. I certainly would. Cheers.
@newbie_1 lol Least they may be originally sourced. I'm fairly sure some finally get to here via the Aussie Facebook groups that I share. It's a challenge thou to find unique giveaways. They are only truly unique once, after that when shared about the promoter becomes well known and may send out notifications/emails for future giveaways.
There a few Australian compers that do awesome volunteering posting up giveaways on sites. If they are members of here they are more likely to "flood" with fresh giveaways. It takes time locate and check terms and conditions and post in the required formats.
@gaseja Good point about being added once is good. Most of the Australian Facebook giveaways are well circulated among the Aussie compers. The issue might be a lot of members competing to post from that network. I.e. Giveaways posted won't be anything really fresh. I just hope the don't end up with a flood of Facebook giveaways.
There are so many competitions out there Aussie and worldwide could be hundreds to choose from each day to post. I tend to focus on the international ones as a lot aren't listed.
@wolverine Yes I the possibility is I COULD with some resources I've got to source giveaways. Thou sharing giveaways regrettable lately I've become a bit wary.
I'll take it all as complements. I'm sure some would love more variety of giveaways. :)
The main issue with members posting they WILL have to check the terms and conditions. There's a element of responsibility for sharing giveaways to masses.
@wolverine lol. Compliments. I wouldn't worry too much. I'll find a few giveaways to keep you happy with some "toys".
It takes way too much time to "flood" giveaways for anyone person to do it. It's not all as easy as it sounds, if searching around for more offbeat giveaways, checking the T&C's and then post. Unless you just want members to cherry pick and regurgitate whats already commonly circulating around.
There's on easy solution to alleviate your issue, i.e. post up a few unique giveaways. :)
@toxicgherkin More importantly, I sure members would love know the T&C's for posting approved giveaways to evaluate whether the effort is worth it.
It only works well when got a mixture of members, contributing with different interests and from a variety of sources. I'd image there would be some guidelines to ensure variety and integrity of postings to reduce any anticipated issues.
@wolverine If you look back I a bit through the forum I occasional used to post up a few. Reminds me @Goldmember Happy Birthday for last week sorry didn't get around to a gold themed batch of giveaways. :)
I retired a couple of months ago and comping was one of the things on my list to try now that I have spare time. This site is great but I do get a bit frustrated when I go to a 'free to enter' competitions only to find the link doesn't seem to work or I fill in all the details only to find that if you're a winner they will only contact you by phone - I only use my home line and am often away - or you have to be on Facebook (I tried that for 8 days last year then closed my account). But I suppose I'll learn the inns and outs. Can't wait for the influx of 'you're a winner' emails!!!
I'd rather be contacted by phone then you know its actually a legitimate win. I won a trip to Aspen last year and the only way they let you know if you won was by e-mail. I thought it was a spam e-mail and deleted it. Luckily for me they found me (my phone number is silent) through my parents phone number of all things and I was still be able to claim the prize. Best prize ever and now I'm so careful of reading my e-mails. I personally think they should do both, contact through e-mail and phone. Good Luck.
Hi @Trying and welcome. I use a little prepaid mobile as my contact number most times. Also a separate e-mail account as you will get lots of e-mails. Good luck :) There are some very good articles on the blog that are a good read.
I have always been contacted by phone, followed with a confirmation email for the big wins, but the reverse applied to me- they rang and I thought it was a hoax until I received the email!
@fourleaf I like the idea of a prepaid mobile for competitions. @Trying you can always divert your home phone to your mobile by pressing #21 then your mobile number then * (and #21# to undivert) that way you won't miss a call and it will allow you to see incoming phone numbers. This was handy for me 12mth ago when The Good Guys rang me. I googled searched the number to confirm it really was them. Good luck!
I certainly hope this site does not go the way of competitionsguide.com.au Members now have to pay to use the "premium" version of the site. You can still access the site for free, but it is extremely limited with virtually no access. It seems you cant even use the "contact us" area to complain about it. This kind of defeats the purpose, having to pay a membership fee just to enter competitions. Most people I am sure, are like me and enter these competitions to try to get something for nothing (or perhaps the price of a product) I hope that word of mouth on here (and many many other sites/social media I visit) puts the message out there. Just letting you guys know, that what this forum is about is it not. To let "our" community know what's going on out there in the world of competition entering.
Let me see we all "work" promoting all these business for the chance to win. Now they want to everyone to pay for that chance. hmmmm. I think those fee comping sites need a better business model.
It takes time and effort to track down unique giveaways continually and costs associated with hosting and design etc. So guessing flogging members to maintain a level of service.
Question is do those site offer a level of service worth it? I.e. Do they source competitions themselves or using volunteers to source listed giveaways. What's the incentive to share giveaways and on those sites? Do members get discounts etc?
competitionsguide.com.au I don't use that often so won't be missing anything. Nothing that two seconds of google can't locate.
Lottos though might be a good source of giveaways, it's interface and ease of use is something out of the stone age.
Facebook is probably the best source as most promoters use Facebook to promote their giveaways. Also due to the vast interconnected network of compers you probably can source enough to keep to you happy for a lifetime.
My general impression most of the aussie sites just utilizing the network of Australian compers out there or short list of common promoters. I don't see too much fresh stuff popping up and lacking in some key areas. I.e. men's fashion and technology. Where the hell are all the goods men's fashion giveaways, I rarely see many displayed on those sites.
I don't feel much need to pay for those sites as two seconds you can google and find the giveaway anyway. There are also some good free resources still out there.
One of these days will get around doing an automated system especially for international giveaways. Generally I find those are overlooked on the Aussie sites.
Ps By the time the giveaways are listed on those paid sites they're common knowledge for the Aussie compers already. :)
@jennifer.lobster Roughly 300ish listings per month is a fraction of Australian giveaways out there. This site has one of the better formats. Lacking in the ease of use of leave a comment on the giveaway. Notice no one bothers or haven't noticed it.
They could at least publish some of the reoccurring ones when they are released. I see must be Wednesday the weekly Android Authority is announced. It's usually published by 7 am Monday. :)
What's the difference between the limited and "premium" versions? I can't see too many compers paying for numerous sites, especially if they all listing roughly the same ones or sourcing from the same gene pool!
This is the only site I use. (I'm staying loyal) I've tried competitionsguide.com.au before. I've never won anything on that site. Best outlay of website and I've won numerous of comps on here too. I'm happy to stay put. :)
@Lemond not really into international comps. They send me to many spam and scam e-mails. Plus the whole wide world enters, so not much chance at winning. Each to their own. Maybe I'm just an Aussie through and through. LOL
Has anyone cashed in surveys or gift vouchers it seems to be stuck in maintenance for weeks at a time is this a fake site as I don't have a PayPal account please help?!@SunnyLife
@Admin Weird the latest giveaway posted doesn't want to register and not in the activity log. The good news it hasn't set to viewed. Thou tried numerous times. Someone pass the sledgehammer please.
When you click the enter button it normally takes you to the promoters page getting the link below. When click on the image get "This site can't be reached http://0.0.112.218/ is unreachable."
Thank you @Lemond for posting this! Glad to know it's not just me :) I've clicked on that competition dozens of times, tried all sorts of ways (except the sledgehammer, but that was coming soon!). Alas, nothing has worked so far. Very odd.
@admin Thanks @IWANTTOWINBIG it was taken a day or two ago. Argh forgot was that option to report it. :) I get the feeling the top of the leader board must be getting close.
@IWANTTOWINBIG lol. Yeh it's an uphill battle to get into the top 3 without a birthday. Odds are fairly slim with a more birthdays this month. I could dig up the spreadsheet of statistics I did last year when they altered the system. You're going to need roughly 195 daily points give or take a few to make it. 60 points from a maximum of 80 I think we're both pushing the odds. :(
I am thankful for all the comps Admin adds but wish they'd take the extra couple of seconds to actually read the comps they post so that they don't say "all states" when it has to be picked up in Perth etc, just like cheesecake shop comp. When short on time I actually quickly look at the bottom of each comp post to see which states can enter and just automatically enter thinking the info is correct where often it isn't. Please Admin could you only say "all states" when it really is all states. Thank you :)
This is the jacket I won from The Epicentre for an international competition. An Arc'teryx Men's Cerium LT Hoody with price tag of ek 299 pounds/$500 AUD. Might come in handy today it's a bit fresh this morning.
I wonder if anyone wins at all in these comps and wonder if they are just promotional advertising to send out discount vouchers to entice people to shop on their on line store. I get them all the time.
so I'm not sure if I'm annoyed or flattered. I entered a FB comp and thankfully was a winner of a oneof 25 double movie passes (so yeah that makes me happy) , But i noticed that someone else used my exact entry (cut and pasted) right below me just 2 hour after i wrote my 25 words or less answer....sadly they won too. Seriously can't they think of their own answer
Congratulations and commiserations, @Andieharrie. Yes, it's very frustrating when that happens. I experienced that recently. Fortunately it was clear to the promoters that my entry was submitted first, and was 100 % penned by me. I won that one as well - an international promotion.
@toxicgherkin i did make a comment under their entry about plagiarism but no reply of course.....i suppose i should be flattered that my entry actually won twice LOL
their account looks so weird - but sometimes better not to complain - i've seen so many companies that get sick of people complaining about the competition their running and then they decide to not do any. Check out how many christmas comps there were this year compared to last year. So many companies didn't do 12 days of giveaways this year when they did last year.
I keep getting emails saying congrats you won 500 from coles or free spins no pokies
I click unsubscribe but they keep bugging me. The problem is my phone gets a notification whenever one of these emails come in and as its get in the primary section of outlook
One of the comps that we clicked on here no doubt. They all sell your information to a third party. I've been unsubscribing to a number of e-mails that come from overseas. All crap.
And does everyone here keep getting notifications on there phones I have the outlook app and emails get sorted in FOCUSED or OTHER And these spams keep getting in the focused ones so I keep getting notifications which drive me nuts when I'm busy cooking or whatever. Because I only want to see focused emails if I won a prize or if its urgent
If I get those I don't press UNSUBSCRIBE as this can make it worse. You can either or both, Report it as SPAM through your ISP or set up a Rule in your Email, so when these come in they go straight to your JUNK email box. Every few weeks, I just press DELETE JUNK BOX.
I've Won
| Glad Australia - Win 1 of 10 $50 VISA gift cards!
A small win thanks to Glad, and a facebook one which I usually never enter, still comes in handy and grateful for the first win of the year.! Took my 4 day Ayres Rock prize in December and it was fantastic, we had complimentary champers on both flights- thanks QANTAS and the accommodation at Voyages the resort and two included tours were wonderful. An incredible prize!
Always nice to know that Somebody actually wins these things (and that is what my friends tell me). Also the 25 WOL also keeps the old brain ticking over for a unique/quirky/winning answer, and the odd win keeps me keen. Volumes of junk mail is a problem though, really do need to set up a separate account- one day!
Was someone asking here how long to expect the Eftpos win to arrive? Finally got one today in the mail still expecting another which won a couple of days after that one.
The postie and courier were busy this morning. :) 299 pounds jacket from the UK arrived, won exactly a week ago, wines from qld won just before Christmas, and Eftposwin won a month ago. Amazing the bigger the parcel and further away the quicker it arrives.
Agree with @Lemond regarding "Anything practically can use or urgently require"!
For me, my wish list 'top 5' would be: 1. Cash or gift cards for essentials (Coles, Woolworths, Target etc) 2. A year's worth of bills paid (E.g., Power, rent, petrol, groceries) 3. Car 4. Washing machine 5. PC/laptop
On a terrible losing streak for a while, so hoping for a better year in 2017! Best of luck!
I am getting extremely frustrated with the daily bonus points .It is now 5 months since I have got over 5 points and usually get 4 points max. Does not seem to matter what time I do it .Any tips ?
I doubt it's been 5 months of continuous daily random points below 6, probably 5 days and it seems like 5 months. Assuming entered every day 2^150 (1.4272477e+45). Improbably not impossible. pmsl
Five continuous day 5 or below 2^5 = 32 (i.e 1/32 chance ). I would start become concerned after about 10-15 days in a row for a genuine issue.
Time of day shouldn't have anything to with random daily points assuming no bugs still hiding in the cracks. Haven't really noticed anything abnormal apart from your possible case. Not that I've payed too much attention for a while. Past issues usually occurred around the 1st day of the month or that's when they could more easily spotted. There is a chance was an issue on the first day and no one noticed. By the end of month if there was an issue it might show up in the distribution of scores been skewed. Note it's bit harder to eyeball for the low scores as those individuals tend to drop off the leader board.
The only thing I noticed on the first day of the year the competitions were posted up a bit later then usual. I assumed still recovering from their NYE hangover.
The die weren't loaded last month @toxicgherkin? One of these months I must get lucky enough for a top 3. :)
@Lemond Thanks for your reply but after it started to happen I have actually written down all my numbers since September and I have never got above 6.BUT TODAY YES I GOT A 7!!! after 4 days in a row of 2 points..Just very bad odds for me I guess and luckily it is the top 50 now for that extra daily guess.
@Winner1 Argh two days in a row of 3 sigh. lol Hate to say both of us probably be pushing it for the top 3 this month. Hmm 45 points after 11 days you'll need to average about 7.5 for the rest of the month . Need about 192ish to be to in the running for 31 days, if it's not your birthday month.
Always the weekly guessing game to hang out for until next month. :)
@shtooff That used to be my old pattern. I'm due for some 10's. X fingers
Maybe they could add in a "treasure hunt" bonus each day to keep it interesting. A small bonus eg 5 points, for the lucky few that "enter" a newly listed competition within that day. EG randomly allocate X amount of members each day to "enter" a random chosen new competition listed, only valid for that day. Do that for each day of the month.
The issues I anticipate, as there are probably a lot of old/inactive accounts the selection of random members, eg 5 each day, must of "entered" a new competition the previous day. Some way to filter out inactive members, otherwise the "treasure hunt" could be predominately randomly allocated to inactive accounts. Assuming might be a good percentage of those compared to active members.
I too have been lamenting my bad luck on the random points. Last month I had 25 birthday points and still only managed to just scrape into 3rd place, but this month has been woeful with just 53 daily bonus points in 12 days that's an average of 4.4 and I definitely will be struggling to even stay in top 50 if this keeps up :( I see today's top 3 are on 87, 85 and 80 daily points so no chance of catching them
@Lemond Well that finishes my 2 days of over 6 back to 1 again today. Clearly I am never to be in the top 3 even be lucky to make the top 50 once again ! No birthday this month so I just hope each week to win the guessing game.
@fourleaf thanks. One year older. One ...year older... lol. Actually my partner and I had a nice dinner and spa(!) at good friends' house, and 'crashed' there for the night. No cake but that suited me down to the ground. I'm more a savoury person. Thanks for the video. Awesome. My first 'Big Bang'! ;) Cheers, and happy new year!
@toxicgherkin :) Argh ISP picked a nice day to disconnect the internet on a public holiday! For some reason they didn't process a payment. Their system must of been a bit hung over. There's a pun there somewhere. lol
Hello everyone, I've only joined this group a month and a half ago but not won anything as yet. I was wondering how to get the best out of getting competition points. I know about guessing comp everyday and viewing all comps but what else is there need to know that can help me out. Happy new year 😊
@IWANTTOWINBIG welcome aboard, and Happy New Year to you too. The only suggestion I have for the moment - and let me ponder upon this some more - is to periodically view the 'Hide entered' competitions. This way you may see competitions that might have been loaded since your last activity, or, added during your current activity and the data has not refreshed. Remember to reset to 'SHOW ALL' or 'Show new competitions only' when you're done though I gather if you navigate back to this page, SHOW ALL is the default status. @Lemond would be able to explain this better, I'm sure. :)
@toxicgherkin Thanks for passing the buck. IT helpline is temporarily down for the public holiday, Happy New Year Wondercom!
You forgot patience, luck may not happen overnight and usually occurs when you least expect it. How long has it taken to win the Leaderboard @toxicgherkin? lol :)
For the leaderboard competition what @toxicgherkin mentioned is good advice on how to check for competitions you may have missed. On the rare occasion they may be posted with an earlier date or once in a while you might get competitions posted up late which expire the same day. I usually check late and get in early for the guessing game as it's first to guess the weekly number. X fingers one day will guess it right!
For winning competitions in general. Well it's either enter as many as possible or find a creative forte. The creative one's are a good way to go if got a passion for a product or promoter. I've notice a few contacts do quite well in that area with some amazing creative work. It's still tough to win however there's plenty of creative competitions out there which generally less people enter.
Your Facebook feed can be a good source of comps either built up over time from entering competitions or through comping contacts. If adding comping contacts on Facebook my advice is be cautious it can be a minefield. Could write a book about the pros and cons on that subject. I'm sure you'll get some jumping to "lend" a hand. If you're lucky you might find some nice ones.
For finding off the radar competitions with better chances. It takes time to build up those lovely junk/subscription emails which may contain competitions overlooked by most. I hope you created a separate email account for competitions.
I tend to source my competitions from a variety of sources and methods. Competitions.com.au is one of many Australian competitions sites. What is displayed each day on this site is a small fraction of competitions out there.
I tend to focus on international competitions which sometimes take a bit of hunting down. I know where to find the Aussie ones they get shared around enough. At lot of those I find aren't posted on Aussie sites or even international comping sites. There's a world of competitions out there. :)
On that note I need to catch up on my regular first day of the month international competitions.
Only other things for the Leaderboard your chances are a lot greater for your birthday month with the additional bonus. About a 50/50 chance for the top 3.
Also don't miss a day, statistically can almost forget about the top 3 thou might still have a chance for the top 50 for extra entries towards the guessing game for the following month. :)
